How do you know when a Team is in Trouble

For my fellow cocky USU fans that are drawing zoob comparisons:

When 5 different players have thrown Multiple TDS and its only the first week in November. (Keeton, Garretson, Harrison, Myers, Butler (Yeah our WR has 2). Not one of those TDs has been during garbage time relief either.

I think our luck is going to run thin with coach Bohl and our True Freshman exposed on film. It'll be a defensive battle but I don't see a good ending for the Aggies.

As much as I thought we wouldn't beat Fresno, I think we'll be in tough against USU. Pokes 17-14

The Wyoming defense sure is catching a break. Back-to-back freshman QBs? Don't see that often.

You're being much too humble with USU in my opinion, or you're trying to work some kind of super-reverse jinx. I see Wyoming needing A LOT of breaks in this game to win.

Its just the odds. Although as sad as the Harrison injury was we have a lot better chance with the Frosh. He's got a silky smooth quick release and acted like a veteran even though he had run the offense for a week. He'll get exposed though. I see the Cowboys bringing the heat. The offense is greatly simplified now but I think thats a good thing. Old Mcgivens calls a much better game when Wells tells him he needs to run it 40 times or else.

This game is a crapshoot. Crap shoots go to the healthier peaking home team whose QB was not going to the prom last spring rather than the depleted bunch coming from Hawaii on 6 days rest.

I think it's going to essentially be up to Kirk. If he's on the money, they won't be able to stack the box. If he's not... well. Our defense will likely get tired that way.

All you have to know about our D right now is that no matter what you run Orlando will bring 6-8 guys hard ever play. He has really been on one since he rushed 3 on that big play at CSU to set up the FG. We've got a freshman who's shutting people down on one corner but there is a lot open over the middle and to the other side. But beware that's half the strategy, our safeties love to make the QB make a quick read or try to throw the ball under pressure. We are 2nd in the Country in causing TOs. We'll give up some big plays but usually make up for it pretty quick.

I'm not bragging when I say we will shut down the run game..We have done it for every game for 3 years against Monte Ball, Tennessee, USC, Utah, Taysom, Fashion Bib guy, Ajayi got his 100 at 3yds a pop. Can you guys cause TOs and protect the ball and hit some big ones. I'm betting Bohls that you can with a real coach.

IMO, Poke passing game will be the key. If USU has a fast secondary and goes man-to-man, then trouble.

We are very fast but both Stewart and Grey are a little soft w/o great technique. Got some JC guys that look more promising. Jalen Davis is an emerging stud as a rare true freshman lock-down guy at the other corner. He's small and has been beat a couple of times but its rarer and rarer and he's a ball hawk type. Centers, Suite, and Sutera are very good safeties and playmakers. Of course our LBs cover well but Orlando is still on his post CSU blitzcreig so I doubt they'll be too far from the backfield. I think this secondary is really on the cusp of putting it all together. If they do we may give Boise a go. Who knows. For now they'll be tough but you can scrounge out enough points like CSU did.

Just a heads up, in the Tampa 2, we rarely blitz. Sometimes we do, but usually it's just the 4 down linemen.

I think you'll need to switch that up unless your cover guys are shutdown. Sharp has put up numbers like that kid from CSU lately, and Robinson, Butler, and JoJo who took that punt to the house against you last year are all burners like USU has not had in a while...in fact ever in those numbers. Sharp is our best pure receiver since Kevin Curtis who nearly single handedly beat you guys when we were so bad in 2001.

This O-line has come around 1000% in the protection dept. I'll bet with the true frosh, seeing how accurate he was without a rush, will get Bohl's full stunt and blitz attention. I'll change my prediction of a Wyoming win if they only bring 4 all game because we will get open deep unless the secondary is better than anyone the Aggies have played. Probably is given our schedule. Of course, 4 can do the trick but that really is going against the O-line's strength right now.

Agree with this. I think we need a couple of big turnovers (possibly defensive scores) to keep this one close. Our offense is simply not dynamic enough to consistently move the ball against this type of defense. Quick 3 and outs and our typical less than stellar special teams play will create short fields for their offense against our rapidly tiring and thin defense.

It's a tough matchup for us because it pits strength vs. strength (our running game vs. their run defense), but their "strength" is Top 25 caliber.

They have a quality coaching staff, but this is a recruiting issue. When Gary Andersen took over at USU, he didn't have anything to sell that was any better than what DC had to sell at UW, yet he recruited incredible depth and talent across the board (particularly on defense), while DC acquired talent in only a few positions (QB, WR to an extent). It will take Bohl years to get us to that point.
