Honeymoon over

It's one game. It certainly doesn't look promising but these guys are going to have to regroup fast. or it will be a very long season. I'm disappointed with how easily our D-line is getting pushed around. I was always a bit worried about Svoboda. He couldn't beat out Peasley, who was adequate but hardly great. There must have been a reason for that and I guess were seeing it tonight.

What's the official fan ruling? Do we get to just ignore the first 2 years of results with sawvel like we did with Bohl pretending they never happened and don't count in judging the coach? Or do we start counting the results immediately? Because it looks like we are heading to Bohls first 2 years again

Well Bohl blew the whole program up and basically started from scratch (I still don’t excuse his first two years). Sawvel was promoted from within (with no HC experience) in order to keep program continuity and supposedly keep the 9-win season momentum going with a very veteran team returning. So absolutely fucking not.

Aaron Bohl moving up was part of the deal that Bohl seemed to strike on the way out, and then Sawvel added an OC that had absolutely shit the bed in his last two stops.

This is definitely the worst Wyoming football I’ve watched since those early Bohl years. Which will be greater at the end of this game - UW penalty yards, Wyo total offense, or ASU points? It probably won’t be total offense.

Bohl was left an empty cupboard and completely remade the program. Sawvel inherited one of the most veteran teams in the country with continuity. There’s no comparison.

Agree, I don't excuse the first 2 years either like many fans. Just figured I would check the fan base pulse now with the new coach because it seems we are headed back to Bohls first 2 years in terms of wins

I think that Bohl inherited a pretty bleak situation when he stepped in. The cupboard was pretty bare. So the answer is no. But let's give it some time before we get out the pitchforks. It's not like we were great on the road under Bohl. Obviously, to get boat raced by the team predicted to finish 16th in the big 12 is not a great start. But watching Svoboda throw those picks is giving me awful visions of Levi Williams.

1 game doesn't make a season or career. The first outing looks like that female dog karma may be biting the program.

It's almost like should have focused on improving the program rather than promoting junior. Of course Svoboda would have been off to a p5 program if we didn't have continuity.

Hopefully asu is a juggernaut and the PBJ train gets on track.

Eerily similar to the 1st game when Bohl came in his 1st year vs a power 5 school. Oregon in 2014, I was at that game in Eugene but we were ahead after that 1st quarter...then it all fell apart...this one sounded ugly from the beginning and yes it might be a looooong season..we'll see how they respond vs Idaho next week

Svboda looks 10x worse than Williams ever did

This is my take as well. I hoped for better than this tonight
