Bias aside i can only see one other player worthy of this and that's Marvelle Harris at Fresno, but for terms of what this player means to his teams etc. Mr. Josh Adams should really get lots of attention about this and sure hope the media does him justice. Let the debate begin!!

Reminds me a lot of last year. Larry was clearly the most important player in the conference and should've won the award but with Boise winning a regular season title Derrick Marks won it because that's how the conference works. Larry got drafted and is playing in LA while Marks in playing in Italy. That's how I see this one working out too. Marvelle will win, Josh will get drafted, and Marvelle will end up in Europe where no one even knows what the Mountain West is.

Always hard to win these awards when your team is a bottom dweller in conference. Marvel Harris is pretty deserving of this too and Fresno is having one of their best years in a long time. Adams should still be in the running though. One thing that hurt Nance Jr was that mono and his knee wasn't were it is now either. I mean he's having trouble with it again but he looks soooooo damn impressive athletically with the Lakers at points this year. I hope Adams gets it man he's just been so electric for us his whole career.

Although Josh deserves it and is the best player I bet Harris gets it. It's not like Harris isn't a great player, though.

Defensive guards will be a premium this year for Western NBA teams. Every GM is looking for somebody to slow down golden state.

I predicted on Saturday that Josh will get shafted by the league and get 2nd team all MWC. Because that's how they treat Wyoming players.

There is a huge difference between who deserves it and who will win it. Josh is the best player in the MWC hands down, bar none. It's not even close. But Harris will win it. Josh Adams is one of the top 15-25 players in the country. If he was on a team like Duke he would be in talks for player of the year. He is that good. I don't agree that Harris is more important to his team...

Here are the stats between the two listed on espn:

24.2 ppg 45.2% fg% 39.3% 3pt% 81.0% FT% 5.7 REB 4.2 AST 0.6 BLK 1.5 STL 3.7 TO
20.4 ppg 40.2% fg% 33.3% 3pt% 76.1% FT% 4.7 REB 4.6 AST 0.7 BLK 2.2 STL 1.9 TO

Adams deserves it, but Harris will get it because he's on the better team.

if they pull a Brian Hill and not have Josh on 1st team there there truly is something wrong with this league

If I was Josh, have someone else win the MW Player of the Year and get selected 1st round in the NBA and go to the Lakers, Celtics etc..., more valuable than a plaque from the MWC. Keep going Josh - Wyo Fans have enjoyed watching you.

If Josh is under the radar for the NBA, the POY would be some good pub

Absolutely. For some reason, the MWC bases their POY and All-Conference selections off win-loss record. They are individual achievements. Team achievements is what the trophies are for. The MW is a joke and they have proven, at least from my perspective, that they hate Wyoming. Josh is hands-down the most deserving player. He just won't get it.

Josh has a good chance to win it. If Harris wins it, I would be ok with it as he is a great player on a team that did better than we did. Recently the MWC has given the award to the winning team but there has been winners from teams that finished worse than us in the conference. I'm thinking mainly of Rueben Douglas back in the early 2000's from New Mexico. Still probably my favorite non cowboy MW player ever.
Josh has a chance but if MArvelle gets it it is deserved too.

Brown from New Mexico just shat the bed last night so I bet he's out of contention now. The stupid beat writer from the Coloradan is in love with Brown.

This is only the 2nd year that the media has been removed from voting, and the decisions for post season awards is made strictly by the coaches. So we don't need to worry about that loser from Fort Collins thinking Josh Adams isn't 1st team all-conference. I think coaches respect Adams a lot more than Harris (from a gameplan standpoint) and would rather build a team around Josh. For that reason, I think he might have a better chance. I don't think wins and losses will play as big a role has they have in years past with incompetent media being allowed to vote.

I didn't know that media doesn't vote. Interesting

Yep, the media will still get together and present awards, but the "official" awards are voted on by coaches only
