Holes that need to be filled for 2012

Most obvious is that we need some big dominant DTs on the D-line that don't get blown off the line of scrimmage every play. What else?

Bigger D line and a new DC. I know our D is small, but I just don't have any faith in English. He's an adequate position coach, but no DC.
I don't have the time or resources to research this, but how did this years defence compare to our defence under Glenn and Koening with reguards to size?

Fletcher-6'7 275lbs-DE
Unrein-6'4-280lbs-DT
Givens-6'3-300lbs-NT

Those guys played for several years until they graduated after the 2009 New Mexico Bow (and Unrein and a key strip of Fresno's Ryan Matthews that allowed the Pokes to tie it up).

One key to our success the past few yrs is having a pretty good punt game, McCoy will be tough to replace.

...at least Schober is back and I assume will resume kickoff duties, because we still suck at kickoffs

we have some 275+ lb. DE and DT 's. Purcell is one. He was booted from the game. Merten,Tua Auffaso, and Michel all above that number.

Look at the roster and you'll see where the focus has been. 12 O-lineman at the 290+ lb size(all Fr or Rfr) plus a few others who aren't that large.

Looking at the roster one gets the idea what the formula is. 9 Fr/R-fr wide receivers this year. A stable of O-lineman, a half dozen Fr CB's, a balance of line backers, and young QB's. It looks like English might not be a bad as everyone makes out. He's using what he has.
