Hire Paul Simmons

Paul Simmons is exactly the coach we need. He took D2 Harding to a national championship with the flexbone. Team was the first ever to rush for over 6000 yards in any NCAA division. Harding, by all measures, did not have the athletic talent of other D2 teams.

Sounds great.

After reading his bio, he has never in his entire life lived outside of 3 hours from Searcy, Arkansas. He is 52 years old. He has never coached a team without the name Harding in it.

What are the odds a family like that moves 1,000 miles away for a new adventure out west?

After thinking about this, I like it. Zig when everyone else zags. There are still quite a few high schools that run option based offenses. We could get some of those kids. I would think linemen would love to play in a scheme like this. Why not? We blow, so may as well try something like this

Probably pretty decent considering his son is now playing football in the SEC and the offensive coordinator at Wyoming makes 3 times as much as the head coach at Harding.

I'm waiting for someone to master the spread concept out of the traditional flexbone alignment. Other than Qb under center and the "slotbacks" in close, it seems like the 2 concepts could be efficient at isolating 1v1 matchups in the passing game.

Either way, an efficiently passing flexbone could be effective?

Wyoming needs to be a program that is constantly doing something different than everybody else. This would be great. Wake Forest has the Slow Mesh.

Harding is undefeated this year now 3-0 after scores of:
59-0
59-7
63-3

No joke. This D2 team would kick our ass. That’s not even hyperbole. It’s a fact.

Arkansas? Have you ever been? Hillbilly trash, missing teeth, meth and incest, along with smoky greasy humidity. That place is a complete shithole. I think when people in Missouri flush their toilets, it comes up living in Arkansas.
