Justice Murphy has that “it factor” that his teammates recognized immediately — the type of physical ability that could help Wyoming immediately.
“He’s got speed, he’s got elusiveness,” junior Tanner Gentry said of his fellow wide receiver, a 6-foot, 185-pound true freshman. “You can just tell when you look at someone if they’re an athlete or not, and he’s one of them.”
Murphy drew praise from veteran teammates Shaun Wick and Eddie Yarbrough at Mountain West Media Days last month. Both singled him out as the freshman with perhaps the best chance to make an impact immediately.
But during the summer, the NCAA coaches from working with their players on-field. Incoming freshmen can only work out with strength and conditioning coaches and with teammates at “player practices.”
