Hi Wyoming Fans. Arizona State fan here with a coac question

We are currently in the midst of a head coaching search fiasco down here. Not sure how much attention it is getting there, but in Tempe its disastrous.

Anyways everyone around the program has been throwing out coaching names to go after, and I have heard Dave Christensen from Wyoming a few times. I researched it and was impressed?

Why hasnt anyone taken a look at this guy?

I am curious if Wyoming fans are worried about their coach skipping out to a bigger program sometime soon? Hopefully it is ASU
 
Because we don't want him to leave while he's winning. He had a 3-9 season last year, so nothing to see here ASU fans, nothing to see in Laramie at all.

I love DC at Wyoming and I think he's definitely got us headed in the right direction. The numbers above don't imply a better job quite yet

i heard that he makes the kicking team practice FG's with puppies instead of footballs....just cause he likes the squeaking sound they make
 
Haha not the responses I expected.

Yea the June Jones thing was weird. They announced they would hire them and everyone was just outraged.

The problem is the school president and the athletic department COO are going one direction and the AD is going the other. Our AD wont make it another month.

People are not so forgiving here
 
Here is an honest response for you...

After a smoking 3 & 9 season last year, and massive attrition amongst the team...

He goes 8 & 4 this year...but that record is very misguiding. 2 of the wins were against FCS teams, that ultimately replaced what probably would have been 2 losses (Utah & BYU).

So, honestly, we are a fortunate 6 & 6. Wins against Weber State (FCS), SDSU, Bowling Green, AFA, and CSU could have easily gone the other way...EASILY. We did have a solid win against Texas Something (FCS), and also had good wins against perennial losers UNLV & UNM.

That is why the jury is still out.

Couldn't have said it any better. The CDC-to-_______ talk is seriously premature.
 
CDC has yet to get a signature win, although the previous New Mexico Bowl was probably his best. Coach Hill settles for a field goal and they likely come away the winner.

Has our maligned defensive coordinator "coached" the Cowboy's great turnover margin? Because without it, there would be no bowl game and our record would include a few more blowouts.

What is ASU trying to resurrect with another coach? Improving their average of 1 Pac-10 conference title every ten years? That's what it is. 9 coaches and 3 conference titles since 1978. Erickson's resume is far superior to Christiansen's and if he wasn't good enough for you, then you would be wasting your time hiring our's. The jury is still out for CD.

They can still come and take him as far as I'm concerned. Jones' son JJ posted on facebook that SMU was the "shittiest" and that if Jones left it was SMU's "fault". But can't really say much because he is a Sr. in high school so he may just be 16, 17, 18 years old. But he's a big boy, a G at 6'3 270.
Many feel that JJ Jones' posts reflect how June Jones feels and thinks about SMU but IDK.
It's definitely time to move along from June but it costs 6 million $$. And there was just a lot about it that just wasn't right.
Arizona State people really helped to fuck up things. SMU, after all it's been through, really doesn't deserve that treatment.

Honestly, I think Dave Christensen is a good coach from what I have observed but he is probably too cold for me. He seems to be doing well for Wyoming so I would say to the Arizona State fuckers (not everyone there but the ones who are) to push off.

Utah or BYU was replaced with BSU, so yeah I think we would have had at least one game that would have went either way. I think we could have beaten BYU this year and maybe even utah.
