Had Tiller not been run off, and the AD office

competent at the time, where do you think Cowboy football would be right now?

My guess.... a lot more bowl games (& victories) plus a few conference titles and several winning seasons where we win at least 10 gamees.

Definitely more bowl games. Can't say MWC titles though.....there were some very good Utah, BYU, TCU, etc. teams the last decade or so. So yeah.....more bowl games? Yeah, at least three. MWC titles? Not sure. Doubt it.

What did the fans do? His last season was my first in laramie. Not sure what everyone did.

A lot of fans bitched that he was too mediocre. "Average Joe" was the nickname people gave him.

Did he really pay attention to what the fans were saying?

Probably not. I met him while he was at UW. Nice guy but has the driest sense of humor I ever seen.

Damn.......if Poke fans labeled Tiller "Average Joe", what the hell is CDC?

Beats me but Keonning was total shit. :tickedoff: Dana "Clinton-wannabe" Dimel couldn't keep his pants up to save his life!

I doubt Tiller paid much attention but the AD did pay attention to the fans and I suspect a few were big donors bitching about him.

I agree a big chunk of our fans also share some blame on that one.

Joe Tiller's record at Wyoming

Year Record
1991 4-6-1
1992 5-7
1993 8-4
1994 6-6
1995 6-5
1996 10-2
Total 39-30-1

It is easy to see why they called him Average Joe. I do think if he would have stayed around we would have stayed above .500 most of the time with a really nice record every few years (10-2/11-1/12-0).

I can still remember my family bitching about him.

1998 was the last time we won 8 games in a season. 1996 was the last time we won more than 8. I'm hoping this changes in the next 2 years (and hopefully this year).

So I thought this might be interesting to play around with some numbers and see what I could come up with.

Coaches Summary
Year Coach Record Winning %
Code:
87-90	Roach 35-15 70.00%
91-96	Tiller 39-30 56.00%
97-99	Dimel 22-13 62.00%
87-99	total 96-58 62.00%

00-02	Koenning 5-29 14.00% [Fixed for kansasCowboy]
03-08	Glenn 30-41 42.00%

I know Koenning was bad, but he wasn't that bad his record was 5-29. 1-10 his first year, 2-9 his sec. and 2-10 his final.

So it posted my reply into the coaches code above. but mainly, I don't like to see anyone make us look worse than we actually were.

Kansas, I corrected things so that your post 2 posts ago can be read easier.

No what's bad is having these numbers in a spreadsheet, building some formulas to add everything up, and then deciding to add Koenning's numbers by hands and coming up with the wrong number. Whoops. I've fixed the numbers above.

It has been a bad decade IMHO. I would like to have Tiller back but I think Christensen will get it done this year. I think having a new quarterback might actually be a very good thing for us right now. One that can find an open receiver.
