Well, we are dogs in this game to an under-performing SJSU team.

This game is big to them as well if they want to go to a bowl game. Homecoming game also.

Their three wins are comprable to our wins at this point. Nothing great. Their losses have been drubbings.

08/29/13 vs. Sacramento State Spartan Stadium W, 24-0
09/07/13 at Stanford Stanford, Calif. L, 34-13
09/21/13 at Minnesota Minneapolis, Minn. L, 43-24
09/27/13 vs. Utah State * Spartan Stadium L, 40-12
10/05/13 at Hawai'i * Honolulu, Hawaii W, 37-27
10/12/13 at Colorado State * Fort Collins, Colo. W, 34-27

Smith and Fales are very similar in numbers for year
Chandler Jones and Rufran are similar in numbers for the year
The defenses (statistcally) are literally right next to each other allowing about 28 points per game
UW averaging 35 points per game, SJSU 24
UW rushing is 264 yards per game, SJSU 204
Passing defense is about equal

The biggest glaring difference: Rush defense. UW giving up 344 yards per game. SJSU about 220.

This game, on paper, looks like a pick'm. But I don't think we pull this one out. Maybe this is me trying to manage my expectations and prepare for an L.

The part that confuses me is I don't know what team shows up this weekend. We know what we have with the D; no changing it at this point. The most discouraging/depressing thing for me against CSU was our Offense. First time I have seen the O look stale, predictable and overall...meh.

That being said... I don't think we get it done this week. I want to believe, but my eye test saturday scared the living hell out of me.

UW: 31
SJSU: 45

I lost my ass last week allowing my heart to bet the Wyoming/CSU game instead of listening to my head. This week I am listening to my head. SJSU easily covers I'm afraid. We have one common opponent. They beat the sheep in Ft. Collins, and we got rocked by 30 points at home by that same "horrible" CSU team one week later. Some of the Wyoming kids looked like they have already checked out mentally in the CSU game. I think you can stick a fork in the Pokes, this season is all but over. I really hope they prove me wrong. I'll gladly take another hit at the local book if the Pokes turn things around.

But I'm betting they don't.

SJSU 44-34

Hope I am wrong, but I don't see our defense stopping Fales and SJSU. I believe if we win this game, we go to a bowl game; but if we lose, we absolutely do not go to a bowl game.

Hate to use the transitive property, but the glaring note on that schedule is that they beat CSU in their place....and we obviously know how the Pokes fared against them. I think the offense improves this week, but the defense won't stop Fales. First real challenge from a great QB this season.

Pokes - 41
Spartans - 45

Man, we are hot & cold fans! And so is our team. I sense some frustration, quit, embroilment, and dissention amongst the team, and the coaching staff. I don't know that for pure 100% fact...but...

I guess that means - SJSU 56, UW 13

I think a lot of us are coming to grips with our team. Just really disappointed.

I'm not sure I've come to grips with this group. If you told me before the season that the Pokes would thump AFA so bad that CDC would have to call off the dogs or risk embarrassing the academy, but also get blown out by Texas State AND the god damn Rammies would boat race the team? Sounds impossible. I really don't know what to think of this group.....any of them. Smith, the WRs, the entire defense, CDC and the staff....I don't get it. CDC has been inconsistent his entire era at Wyoming. Good results mixed with bad ones. He's taken that to the extreme this year. Really good results (nearly shocking Nebraska, blasting AFA) and really really bad ones (TSU shocker, numbing performance vs. CSU).

How can anyone truly make an informed prediction of this group? Maybe they bounce back, or maybe they get whacked....or maybe we'll see an entertaining game.

At this I am only certain of three games: Fresno, Boise, and Utah St. are going to take it to Wyoming. The O-Line and D-Line issues are rising again, and at a terrible time. Those teams will devour Smith and score at will. It will come down to SJSU and UH for bowl eligibility......just my opinion of course.

Being a Wyoming fan has been tough for a really long time and feels like there is always a yearly kick to the balls. I was told that I wasn't too fun to be around saturday. I have trouble not taking bad performances personally. At least there is beer.

we play well as no home crowd pressure but I see us getting beat at the end, 38-35 SJSU, maybe I'll change my tune later in the week

Exactly my thoughts as well

If we get pressure (or sacks) on their QB, we might have a chance. We have not put pressure on opposing QBs much at all this season (or last season either) - nuff said.

I see a few posters guessing we score in the 30's.I can't see us getting 30 points--maybe the mid 20's if we play well.

Fales will run up 50 or 60 on our sheepish defense.

I hope Smith has the hand off thing fixed before game time. It seemed that when he put the ball into Wicks gut that they both would slow down (if they weren't putting it on the ground) and the hesitation allowed the defense to surround them. It didn't matter who carried the ball at that point cuz by then there wasn't anywhere to go.

Feeling little to no pressure this Saturday, Fales will shred our secondary for 350+ yards. Another 150+ on the ground makes the score 56-24... At least ten points for Wyo come off of turnovers...
