Good defense

This Broncos-Chiefs game has tons of great defense in it.
This is how it should be played.
The years Wyo had good records under DC, we forced a lot of turnovers, but it wasn't good defense.
To me, good defenses get the occasional turnover, or force heavy pressure on the QB causing a bad pass, that gets picked.
But other than that, good defense just shut the other offense down.
Lucky defense relies on tons of picks and fumble recoveries.

It seems like Wyo has been trying to play lucky defense, just happening to be right where the ball is being thrown, or weird punts and kickoffs that cause fumbles.
Lucky defense isn't good defense.

Good defenses also force tons of 3 and outs, giving their offense good field position.
Bend but don't break D ends up in allowing FGs, and bad field position meaning your offense has to go 70+ yards each drive.

I often wonder if our defense spends anytime watching good defenses on film...

I know that our defense doesn't tackle in practice.
They play until contact. Seriously.
That might be how all major programs do it, but wow that would surprise me.
There is no way Stanford, or Alabama, or LSU just play 2 hand touch in practice.
