General MWC hoops talk

Good idea. This can be the thread where we get to see all the teams picked above Wyoming by the MWC media come crashing to the ground with losses to Prairie View.
 
PVAMU lost by 41 to Houston last year. We took them to 2OT. Also lost by 18 against UNLV last year.

On the other hand, PVAMU swept Southern last year, who we lost to.

I watched the 1st half. They looked pretty bad, but I think Gonzaga might be final four-type good with those transfers and that huge polak in the middle
 
CSU and UNLV both played turds at home and got more of a game then they would have liked. CSU beat Fort Lewis by nine but it was much closer than that. UNLV is up 10 with a few seconds left on UC Riverside.

I don't see any reason why we can't finish above either of those teams in the MW standings.

Ft. Lewis is pretty good (as we learned last year....). I actually watched a portion of the 2nd half of the CSU game. Their JC transfer, Che Bob, is going to be a real problem. Very athletic and aggressive. Now, if their game had been officiated the way our Montana game was he would have fouled out in just the 10 minutes or so I saw, but he is an impact player. Omogbo is good up front, but that was expected. Not real impressed with their starting guards (Nixon/Paige). I thought they would develop a little better.

I would probably put a significant sum on the following being true when we play CSU: UW will make more threes and CSU will win the rebounding battle. Who wins? I have no idea.
 
Boise is down 7 on the road to Charleston in the first half. They're another team picked to finish higher than Wyoming.

The game is on ESPN3 for anyone that might want to get an early scout on Boise.
 
Boise lost by 13 on the road to College of Charleston. I don't see Boise as the fifth best MWC team this year like the media says they are. There's no reason we can't finish above them.
