From an Air Force Fan

Two years in a row an obvious concussion was missed or ignored by AFA's staff just during Wyo games alone. They're going to ruin someone's life eventually.

The well-being of their athletes is not a priority of theirs, that's apparent.

I read a quote by an AF player that the AF coaches treat an injured player like a leper. Pretty sad way to treat these guys. If i were a player i wouldn't want to treated like a piece of meat. On another note, what happened to the first big old fullback? I saw Uso Olive hit his knee and looked like a possible ACL tear. Also saw a lot of AF linemen use the leg whip on our D line. Even got flagged for it once. That's a chicken shit tactic that is still being taught to their players.

I've heard this too, not to mention the whole "earn your jersey back" after an injury thing with them.

" earn your jersey back" I saw that. So basically they're telling players to play with injuries or lose your job. It sets up a dangerous situation when players have to basically hide their injury out of fear of losing your spot. No loyalty shown to a player who gives his all on the field. I would never want my kids to play for a coach like that.

Here's thoughts from my blog on the game from an AF fan perspective. Note that I believe we could's, would'a and (don't shoot me as an AF fan for saying) should'a won this game if things had been done differently at times. Note for all the things I say in my blog about why we could'a won I give both your defense and passing offense praise for taking the win.

Good luck until we meet on the court in basketball which will see more of the same back and forth matchups we have come to expect between our two teams.

btw: It's over and done with now, but in watching the replay over and over, does anyone here think our guys knew was down on the fumble? Excellent stick by your defender but very close to the helmet to helmet. One thing I didn't mention was the excellent lack of penalties by you team. Penalties were the major deciding point in some ways of AF shooting themselves in the foot.

Maybe the refs didn't get this play right where your guy fumbled when he was knocked out, and the ball changed hands. But at least the ref didn't blow up your line when you were going for it on 4th and one. The refs didn't determine the outcome of this game. But I do admit, if I saw a video of the game with the scoring plays eliminated from the tape, I would guess that Air Force won the game. We call it winning the game, but losing the score.

There is an old saying - you make your own breaks. I am a firm believer in that saying. I don't think this win was luck, I think it was all the little things that go all the way back to summer conditioning, discipline, team play, and a coaching staff that makes adjustments that helped win this game for Wyoming.

AGREED!!! I hate hearing all this crap about AF should have won and Wyoming lucked out and stole one. :willybs: We made the throws when we had to, we made the stops when we had to, they did not. I think we were a better coached team and made the calls we needed to. That play action pass for the game winner was totally unexpected and takes stones to call.

Don't get your panties all wrapped up in a ball.....read what I said "as an AF fan I THINK we..." and then gave you guys all the credit in the world for playing and winning Francis! And I also commented on how great the two TD passes were.

And with that said WE DID hurt ourselves not even looking at what you did or didn't do. A penalty for a TD called back. A penalty negating a 40+ yard catch. WE MESSED UP on those plays, not you guys. So be gracious and let a fan discuss the game a bit with you all here!

Good luck in the next few weeks, it's going to get tougher! (hope I don't hurt anyone's feeling by saying that!)

Our feelings aren't hurt, we won.

I never implied my panties were wadded up because of you, there are others saying we snuck that one out. AF wasn't the only team with mistakes and mess ups. Recapping your mistakes imply that the only reason you lost was because of the mistakes.

I'll agree to disagree .... but still "good luck" for the rest of the season! See ya at Clune or up in the AA for basketball!

ltcpilot is 100% correct guys. The called back TD and 40 yard pass were tremendous gifts to us.

Flag was thrown well before the AFA dickhead made it out of the backfield for the TD - maybe the reason it went for a TD is they had 5 guys in motion prior to the snap. Cheating sometimes works, sometimes doesn't, especially for Air Force.

i don't ever recall an AF team throwing the ball that much even when I was in school watching Dee Dowlis, it was a very entertaining game, nail biting for sure

EXACTLY!

The only reason the ball carried it that far was because of the ILLEGAL movement by everyone on the offense!

It wasn't a "That should have been a TD but it got called back" it was a "They cheated and as a direct result of it the ball carrier got into the end-zone".

Dee Dowis' fumble saved our asses in the 1988 classic (48-45 Wyoming win).

The only person getting their panties all wrapped in a ball is you. No one here is talking about your opinions, they're talking about the opinions of the Air Force fan base as a whole. Get over yourself big guy.

My 2nd game ever as a student, made the trek, 1st away game ever, that comeback to this day was the best Wyo game I ever saw with my own eyes, remember like it was yesterday!!!!

Whatever happened that day was meant to be. Still remains as the best game I have ever seen. My first road game when I was a sophomore. Great game to see in person even if I was 75% present.
