Foster Q&A with Allen Edwards

I'm already so eager for basketball to start I can't see straight. Love listening or reading Edwards talk about the team. I agree TS I also feel Edwards has a higher ceiling for one he won't have an internal battle for retirement/stepping down anytime soon. Will always be grateful for Papa Shy but after the Vegas run last season I just felt the energy was fading for him.
 
I really like the way Edwards interviews. He doesn't do the usual "I don't want to make excuses, but here are some excuses" crap.

It sounds to me like they want to use one scholarship on a transfer guy who could make an impact after sitting out a year. I think they're going hard after that UTEP kid that can't stop transferring. It makes sense since they are talking about only filling one of the scholarships up. Why not use the second one that wouldn't have been used on a high risk kid with obvious talent. Worst case to me is he leaves after a year and it's like you never used it in the first place.

To be fair this will be the first time he has transferred. He did de-commit from SDSU I believe, so that is similar. I agree no reason not to give him a chance. I don't see him leaving another school. Besides he is only high risk because of commitment issues, seems like a good kid overall. He still has a red shirt to burn and would be able to play for 3 years.

My interpretation was that they'd use both scholarships, with one going to someone who might have to sit a year.
