Acronyms aside...

I won't watch the BYU game. Because I sent an email of disgust to Burman when he scheduled these games. He bailed out a school that tried it's best to destroy the MWC and Wyoming in the process.

Doing any sort of favor for BYU has always been a bad thing for Wyoming. Coach Eaton trashed Wyoming's program for decades because he did not want to embarrass BYU by allowing players to wear black armbands.

I agree that byu can’t be trusted at all and we should have no further affiliation with them. And while I wasn’t alive during Eaton’s tenure, I don’t personally believe that not embarrassing byu was the basis of his decision.

Good point. Change is coming rapidly to college athletics. At this point, we can’t even take “next season” for granted.

Very true, the future is concerning, to put it lightly.

Or maybe better? Once p4/p2 split almost all the revenue dries up. I also guess that once we are no longer at- or have the illusion that we have access to- the highest level of cfb, big time donor support wanes. We haven't ever had that but our peers that are relying on it will suffer more. I think once we're basically fcs, most of the money is gone and paying players becomes much less of an impact.

I'll scratch you off the PBJ t-shirt list.

byu is a bottom tier b12 team and likely similar to our maybe even a step back from their former selves. PBJ doesn't get any excuses. If he's a step up, then he's competitive in this game.

I'll stick with the trend of nonsensical acronyms.... :winky: BLT will most likely have a team that does what every other Wyoming coach has done since Tiller. My prediction is that FRP will be somewhere between Bohl and Koenning in terms of wins and conference success....I know, I know...not exactly going out on a limb with that forecast, but I feel like CAD (along with every other Wyoming coach increasingly since Tiller) is in a position of always being at a slight advantage to the traditional conference cellar dwellers and a slight to large disadvantage against the top conference programs. I'll still be at the games loving the successes and suffering the failures. If MSRP can keep us on the happy side of .500 on conference, beat the rams, and win a lot of home games, he'll be generally lauded by the majority of poke faithful even while those of us old enough to remember better times will always be slightly (or greatly) offended by what feels like indifference towards "mediocrity".

Bohl lite team?
Favoritism racism preference?
Cronyism athletic department?
Mostly systemic racism preferred?

I was in middle school and hard core Wyo fan already. You are probably right about Eaton's main motivation but it was still done in part as favor to BYU. Some of my favorite Wyoming sports memories are beating BYU at the first ever night game at the War and watching Danny Ainge cry like a baby when the Tub Bradley team beat them at the old Fieldhouse.

Did you get a response? I have always thought he was good at responding to the fanbase. Hopefully it wasn't just a bunch of smoke.

Nay, nay. It fell into the ether.

Guys can I come

Yes. But only if you make up senseless acronyms that no one will understand and scream it at the top of your lungs during the game.

It really disappoints me that you won't be wearing a PBJ shirt

I hope so. Should be a good measuring stick for PBJ. Coaches of old dealt with byu and theoretically PBJ should be able to be competitive. .
Since 1988, Wyoming is 2-18 against byu. But I guess that is ‘dealing’ with them. I blame Burman for engaging with byu but at least we did get our return home game.

Give up the dumb alphabet schtick. And I’d rather a ham and cheese sandwich anyways.

Wyoming should have beat BYugly in 2019 Poinsettia Bowl game. And almost did.

I think we have a great chance to beat them.

I agree on both of these points. I hate that we are engaging with byu at all though.

That said, for much of the lives of most posters on this message board and pretty much everyone who has an instagram account, we have not been very competitive with byu.

Had our star RB not done something dumb days before and was held out for, I believe, the first half of that game, we would've won.

Hill was held out for the first quarter. Bohl did not say why. I always wondered what the real story was as it was clear later that Hill bore a grudge against the coaching staff.

Thank you for correcting me. Been wondering myself WTH happened between Hill and the coaches that got him benched in the first quarter.

Bohl did the same thing with Waylee last year against UNLV and it was a big reason for the awful start.

Was there in person and I still see the bone headed INT that Allen threw to end the game in my nightmares

That was painful

The best and worst of Josh Allen were on display during that game. Much like the MWC championship against SDSU game, he had an open receiver short of the goal line late in the game as Wyoming was driving for the winning score and instead threw an INT trying hit Gentry deep in the end zone.
