Don't pay attention to the trolls. I think some people are still hurt that they took a guy from the FCS ranks (even though their last Big XII hire Christensen worked so well for them), so any reminder of that just makes them dig deeper into their inferiority complex.

Ya that's it. You nailed it.

Apparently I am confused fine sir........so wyo fans are upset about the hiring of an FCS coach creating an inferiority complex? Am I reading this correct? Fairly certain most fans are excited and think it is a great hire and most of the negativity has come from Bison fans "taking a step down" "we are better" etc.

Again, if I am taking this incorrectly, I apologize. But you are on a Wyoming message board. Inferiority complex.....we hired your coach. Nobody is ripping NDSU. :twocents:

What?

I appreciate your input on the board, but lakes? Not so much. You are a NDSU fan, correct? If so, you should be familiar with lakes and his antics. He has trolled this board and the MWCboard plenty in the past.

I would say the vast majority of Wyoming fans were thrilled with the Bohl hire. If there is any skepticism, it is only because of comparisons to Joe Glenn, but Glenn was really well liked at Wyoming and most prefer Glenn to DC. What irritates Wyoming fans is the suggestion (sometimes explicit, sometimes implicit) that Bohl should have stayed at NDSU versus coming to Wyoming. Bohl made the decision, he obviously believes there is some value in the Wyoming job.

Wyoming will always hire from one of two types: assistants from higher level programs or head coaches from lower level programs. Neither route is inherently better or worse than the other and Wyoming has had success and failure both ways, so I don't think Wyoming fans are upset that we hired a FCS coach (and not just any FCS coach, but one with a historical level of success).

Lol attention NDSU fans...we don't give two shits about the Bison.
It is cool that Bohl had the team do that in Fargo.
But seriously...every time Bohl does anything here in Laramie you guys say "Bohl did that in Fargo too. "Bohl is great at doing this in ND" "Bohl Bohl Bohl....NDSU NDSU NDSU".

If you are a Wyo fan, talk Wyo sports here. Not "What Bohl used to do".

What we are getting upset with is a Wyo fan saying that Coach Bohl farted, and Lakes and a couple other coming on and saying "man Coach Bohl farted all the time in North Dakota. In fact he won every fart contest there was up there."

I was just on a montana message board to see what they thought about the match up. Too my surprise they're arguing with an NDSU fan. Looks like we had more in common than geography

No, I just don't like the whiny little pissant making every thread about his school. Pretty simple. But thanks for the free psychoanalysis.

Craig Bohl came from North Dakota State. Until we see him on the field at Wyoming, the only thing he has on his record is North Dakota State. No one is making things up about his past. If you don't like it, fine. But, like it or not, North Dakota State is a big part of who Craig Bohl is as a football coach. Maybe I should say North Dakota State one more time since it seems to get under your skin so much...North Dakota State.

Would you rather he talk about the CSU Rams or BYU Cougars like so many here like to do?

Back to the topic at hand, here's a press release on the flood relief efforts.

http://www.uwyo.edu/uw/news/2014/05/uw-employees-and-students-volunteer-in-flood-relief-efforts-in-saratoga.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

The two biggest groups representing UW were Physical Plant employees and about 50 student-athletes from the football team. One of them later in the morning commented that throwing sandbags was easier than their daily workouts.

Zach Duval, who has been an assistant coach under head Coach Craig Bohl since January, says it was “pretty easy” for him and three other assistant coaches and team members to volunteer their services.
“We’re actually in the middle of summer conditioning, and we talked to the guys and made it ‘optional-mandatory,’ and here we are,” he says. “We have a very dedicated group of guys who are committed to the community part of their experience because the state gives us so much support. And it’s pretty easy for us to give back.”

Tanner and the Cowboys getting some good press. It is nice to see the coaches and the athletes taking a genuine interest in their community. All too often we hear the negative and the criticism but we often forget that most of the kids are also great human beings. I am proud to have a son who is part of a great group of people and a phenomenal organization. Many of you will never know how much the Cowboy organization does to support these kids. Thank you Coach Bohl, Coach Duvall and all who made this happen. As a former Marine I know that giving back to your community is important and helps to build character. It also goes a long way to build Esprit De Corps and a team identity. Ooo Rah!

Great to see the kids getting some positive press. All too often the only time we hear about them doing anything in the community is when one of them has a brain fart and makes it into the blotter briefs.

Yes many times the good goes unnoticed. Lets "get some good" come this Fall as well!

Thanks to those that understand. I'm on the mwc board because I 100% believe that NDSU deserves to get an invite from them. We ndsu fans want to become wyo fans so why are you treating us with such disdain. I haven't ripped on wyo once

Good work with the flood I saw pics. Congrats wyo football program

It's because you and others try and turn threads about Wyoming or the MWC into threads about NDSU.

In this case I posted a link that showed that bohl has been known for this. .. bottom line it'd awesome team/community building
