I really like our chances in this one. The Texas game showed me that DC has this team playing disciplined football. Granted, we didn't win, but we hung with them as long as our depth would allow us. Turnovers, turnovers, turnovers...as in the turnover bug finally seems to be gone. We just played one of the best D's in the country and only lost the ball once.

The atmosphere will be nothing like the CU/CSU game. I'm guessing Folsom will be about half empty, and there will be a large contingent of Poke fans. This will be the best defense CU has played so far. Toledo was a 3-9 team last year in the MAC, and they got pasted in week one by Purdue. CU is ripe for the picking and I'm hoping we drive the nail right through "intramurals brother" Hawkins. Our boys likely will be really pumped up for this game. Many of them feel they got snubbed by CU, and have played against some of CU's players their entire lives, they'll be playing with a chip on their shoulder. I'm thinking Pokes 30, CU 10.

I think CU and Wyo are very even football teams. This should be a close game. Their defense is pretty weak so hopefully we can put up at least 30 points on them. If we do that, I think we have a good chance of winning. Their offense is very streaky. One drive it will look horrible, and the very next drive it will look pretty good. As good as our defense is, I think they will be able to put up at least 21 points on us. This game is literally a total toss up as far as I am concerned. It should be a very good game to watch.

I think we are all forgetting one thing....

Wyo's offense did not score 1 offensive touchdown against Texas. I'm still worried about our offense and getting it in the end zone

We definitely have things to work on, on O, but that was likely one of the top 5 defenses in the country. There is no comparison between Texas' D and Colorado's. Keep in mind that DC has had CU's number since they switched to the spread. We don't have the same talent that Mizzou had, but I still think we will be putting up some points.

^^^ This is a legitimate concern.

After having hosted an FCS, and then a highly ranked FBS, the tilt with CU looks like the first real opportunity to see what the Cowboys can do. This would be a real nice win for UW, but as mentioned above, they will not give it up easily.

Hope many, many Wyoming fans can make the trip down, there ought to be plenty of tickets available.

Agreed. Reminded me of last year. 5 net yards rushing!?! Granted it was against one of the better D's in the country, but damn! I don't know the final stats, but of the 15 3rd quarter minutes, I would be our D was on the field getting pounded for 12 of those, minimum. And who can win or be successful when that happens!

I feel pretty good about our defense. We've shown good ability to stuff the run, and if we can get some pressure on Hawkins, he'll make mistakes. And lets face it, he isn't Colt McCoy so we should be able to turn some of the pressure into actual sacks. I feel decent about the offense. CU's defense is weak. I'm guessing we'll see a LOT more of ACS . So I'm confident our offense can put more points on the board than theirs. But again, I'm worried about the special teams, ie kick off coverage. Its just a matter of time before we give up a TD there. Regarless, we can't keep letting opponetns start drives on their own 40 or better.

I see Robert Benjamin keeping drives alive with nice runs and timely passing. Focus on getting first downs and we will move the ball and score TDs. I really think CU looked horrible vs Toledo, like SDSU horrible.

Here's the thing that bugged me about Texas: The Pokes quickly went into panic mode. They quit going short and Benjamin just started launching bombs down field hoping to strike. If that happens vs. CU, it's going to be a long day. If they get behind going to panic mode won't win it.
