but I want to comment on what I have been reading from both boards.

There have been quite a few people that are very excited about our win Sat. against SDSU and the potential they saw in the game. Some have even mentioned that they are really excited for this weekends tilt against Tennessee. One poster even mentioned that he thinks we can still get to a bowl, and I think he meant it!

Wyoming, this weekend, beat a 1-8 football team. They had numerous injuries, have been fighting a coaching circus, and plain and simple, looked like they wanted to not even be in Laramie to play football. I am sorry but we beat a HORRIBLE football team Saturday. I guess that this is why I am not excited about this win. If one little win against a team like SDSU changes what has been happening then we have bigger problems than I thought!

I am sorry if this sounds negative but it is hard to hide that the opponents that we have played and won, have terrible records. Ohio (2-7), SDSU (1-8) and NDSU (5-4 in Div 1-AA). We have scored 105 points this year at a 11.6 avg per game. We have given up 273 points at 30.3 avg per game. We have had 29 turnovers this season and rank as #118 in turnover margin. The saddest thing that I see is that we were officially ranked in the bottom 10 IN THE NATION, last week.

Fellow Poke fans, I think a lot of us are looking through those brown and gold glasses again. Just because we had one win against a very, very bad team does not all of a sudden make us good. I have been reading that now it might be ok to keep Joe around one more year to see if he can change it, giving him a one year allowance. What a bunch of CRAP!!!!! Tennessee might be down this year but they are still Tenn with the recruits, 100,000 fans in the stands, SEC football team. We can not hang with that no matter if you think that we got a lot better beating mighty SDSU. We are all so desperate for a winning football team that when we beat SDSU, it changes the whole outlook for our program??? Nothing has changed from last week when we were projecting who was going to coach us next year. Folks, it is time for us to wake up!! WE STILL NEED TO CHANGE THE DIRECTION OF THIS PROGRAM!!!!!!

I can live with that post, and understand where you are coming from. I think I am the hopeful fan you are speaking of but I have not changed my stance at all. Everyweek I have been hoping we can get bowl eligible and until mathmatically eliminated I will continue. The win against SDSU has not changed my outlook at all, I know they are bad, I know we haven't played well, but the fact remains we can still get eligible if we can win out against teams with losing records, something I have been preaching since before the SDSU win. I know it is a long shot and we will need to play better, but all I have is hope.

I do appreciate that you did not insult me like others have done. Your point is well made and I agree with you, we have not played well enough to beat these teams so we must play better.
