Final season ticket sales numbers

Gags just tweeted that UW sold 10,714 football season tickets this year. Breaks the old record by almost 2,500!

That's pretty freakin' awesome!

And Mr. T, there were over 23,000 Poke fans at the Texas State game, and the TSU fans were maybe 100 people or so. That's a 2000 increase from the week before. If the Pokes win @ BGSU, expect to see more Brown and Gold.

Thanks goes out to the Knebraska fans. And kudos to the UW ticket office for sending out SASE return envelopes to the "new" season ticket holders in the event they don't want to use their "other" tickets, they can just send them back. Whereas, a portion are probably even re-sold. Would love to be a fly on the wall to see that all transpire.

Next year...if we don't go bowling in 2011...8,000 max season tickets sold.

If we don't go to a bowl game this year, then I think season tickets will depend on how well we play during the season. Wyoming played more true freshman than all but about 3 program in week #1. We are young and if you look at the guys making plays, they are young too. I think most fans can realize that if we play well this year (but don't go to a bowl), we are still young and there is something to look forward to.

And yes, we can thank Nebraska for the extra season ticket sales. We can thank them for purchasing a 1,000 or so. And, we can thank them for peaking the interest level this year so more Wyoming fans to buy season tickets. The increase is not solely based on Nebraska fans.

i disagree with this particular sentence, i believe that "most" wyoming fans couldn't name three players on the team. i bet "most" wyoming fans could name 1 if they're lucky, let alone know which year of college our players are in

not everyone follows the team like we do here @ wyonation...hell half of the trucks in casper have a BH&R sticker on their rear window...and do you know why? not because they follow wyoming athletics closely, but because its the cool thing to do right now. ask any of them what they think about wyoming football i bet 60% will answer "oh yeah i like it" of them i bet 50% could tell you the last three bowl games we went to the other 40% would just respond "aren't they pretty bad", "well he's a new coach and the season just started", or my favorite "why don't they just move down a division already". all three of these things i've heard THIS
SEASON.......i would say that "most" wyoming fans MIGHT give a crap if we make it to a bowl and thats a big MIGHT

Right, but we're talking about season ticket sales. And, those who purchase season tickets are those who pay attention for the most part. If a fan buys a season ticket, there has to be some interest. This year the interest could have been playing Nebraska, but mostly it is because they are fans of Wyoming football.

Steelerfan, I'm with ya on the move down a division talk. I came up with a great reply. Whenever I hear it, I just say what a quitter's/loser's mentality that is, and that it's not the Wyoming way. They tend to shut up then.
