sitting here board, started reading some articles about a&m leaving the Big 12 without having an invite from SEC.
Now, I know they will get the invite, and the SEC is trying to avoid a lawsuit (hence not sending an invite)
Then the dream began... and it went like this.
A&M gets tired of living under the hoves of the longhorns. Gives notice to vacate... but in the long year the SEC presidents change their collective minds... don't really want to feed another mouth, traditionalism takes over for the SEC presidents.
TCU leaves the mountainwest....
If i was the mountain west CEO... i would be on the phone with A&M, houston... getting my feelers out there, setting up a back up plan...
"Hey, texas A&M, hey houston, ! if your thingy falls through, we have a conference looking for 12 members."
then i would set up the split like this.
North:_________________south:
A.F____________________A&M
wyo____________________houston
csu____________________Nevada
Hawaii_________________Lobos
Boise___________________Sandiego
Fresno__________________UNLV
its all b.s. but it would be very competitive. And in 2014 when we re-negotiate t.v. contract... probably be worth some $$$
