Well, looks like the WAC is all but dead.. UTSA is moving to CUSA, it appears.

Apparently the USU AD had a few things to say today at USUs unveiling of their new logo and uniforms (http://www.theupsetblog.com/2012/04/official-utah-state-unveils-new-logos.html).. mentioned something about wanting to replace the WAC logo on the basketball court.

Well yeah, but 63 points? I guess the same could be said for the Temple game. Defense still has miles to go before its where it needs to be. Losing Knapton and Biezuns won't help either.

What is with the fascination with San Jose State? Why not add UTEP? MT zone school, good tradition, could potentially bring the conference the Sun Bowl. What does SJSU offer?

I agree with J-Rod. What can SJSU bring to the MWC? They couldn't bring jack shit when they joined the WAC in 1996. They never shoulda joined in the first place! UTEP has more upside and a bowl game.

CBSsports & espn are reporting this, but neither the MWC or CUSA have made an official announcement. Maybe they are waiting until all the deals are done and the papers are signed.

Utep is not affliated with the Sun Bowl and has not been for some time. The only thing they have in common is that they are both in the same stadium.

Utep is not affliated with the Sun Bowl and has not been for some time. The only thing they have in common is that they are both in the same stadium.

I believe that is correct, but maybe the Sun Bowl Committee would be interested in affiliating with the new MWC/CUSA when their present contract runs out. This is a bowl game that has been around for a long time, but it has lost a little prestige in recent years. That's probably because there are way too many bowls now.

SJSU has baseball, UTEP doesn't, and the MWC needs a baseball team or we're not a FBS conference anymore.
