The thing I noticed in this was at around the 18:35 mark the lady asks him about recruiting Junior College players and he basically said that they hadn't really been trying to recruit them for the most part but going forward he told his staff that he wants to get the best player available that fits their team whether it be high school, Prep school, JC player or Senior transfers.

So we could see more JC players now and that must be the reason they never recruited Bigsby-WIlliams or Boucher early on.

Sounds like that may change now. Doesn't mean we will get them but sounds like they will be trying more so earlier on now. Which is a good sign.

I agree I thought it was cool someone asked that question considering the amount of discussion about that topic on this board this past few days. I also liked how he was asked about crashing the offensive glass. Confirmed what a lot of us thought would happen with Edwards at control. Truly excited about the future of cowboy basketball.

Edwards response to that question was he wanted to start crashing the boards to get some second chance plays. He said he planed to send the point and shooting guard back and balance the floor but would keep the 3 4 5 on the offensive side to try and snag some second chance opportunities unless of course they are already out of position.
Here is a link straight to youtube hopefully it will work better for you.

Someone asked him if we would offensive rebound more and he said basically that he was going to have 3 guys crash the offensive glass and that would be the 3, 4 and 5 positions and that the 1 and the 2 would always get back. He did say though that if the 3,4, or 5 were at the 3 point line at the time of the shot he would just want them to get back. He would have those 3 positions go for the offensive rebound if they are inside the 3 point line and closer to the basket.

I look forward to the offensive rebounding. A welcome change in strategy. I freaking hated that Shyatt wouldn't lets certified beasts like Leonard Washington, Larry Nance and Derek Cooke hit the offensive glass.

Or using the freak athleticism of Nance/Cooke along with their huge wingspan to apply full court pressure and block passing lanes. I'm excited to see Edwards put in philosophy in motion, hopefully he gets a roster capable of doing it

All this offensive rebounding talk has me excited :winky: :winky: I like that part of the new system. Hope Edwards helps the kids bring the D like we have in the past. How's his recruiting game is going? We've got spots to fill with Conway leaving. Why can't he play 2 sports btw??? If he's healthy maybe we should try to lure him back to the court. Sounds like his heart isn't in it though and if that's the case we need some solid recruits in. We need a long 3 or 4 guy that can slash a little and board. PG is an immediate void needed to be filled too.

I really really want to get in some guys that can play above the rim down low someday. Moemeka looks like that guy but I just would love for us to be loaded up with at least 2 dudes like that.
