Not sure where the info came from, but some of it is incorrect, as it is / was posted below. Best to wait until it can be confirmed (accurately) before posting something that could potentially cause former UW players some issues.

Just posted what I saw another poke post, and checked some of it out myself.

If I got any of it wrong, my apologies.

Edit: Here's Gag's article on the subject.

Not sure it is a huge deal at this point anymore. I believe it was another site / message board...that jumped the gun and put some information out there that was wrong.

Well...if a site / blog / etc. posted that "player A" was going to Philadelphia as a FA, and yet, he just signed with Seattle, all kinds of eyebrows go up. Then also, you have "player B" who the same sites said he signed a FA contract somewhere (when he didn't) sending the message out there that he is "taken". And also...with all social media and that ilk around, inaccurate info brings about a whole pile of shit...

Just to mention a few "issues." ;)

Ok Jerry McGuire. Not that you will admit it here, on this message board, but you don't know what you are talking about. The "NFL" doesn't check a message board...no shit sherlock...but agents, coaches, players, player agents, other media outlets do. Where do you think some of the "inside" shit on ESPN / Fox comes from...outerspace? LOL!

Uhh agents check messageboards? Haha please. If they do, they are not very good ones.

And all that "insider" crap is not the most reliable stuff.
Hell there is even a "rumors" page...because that is all it is. Rumors.

There was even a rumor that the LA Angels were going to trade Josh Hamilton. About 10 games after they signed him to a new mega contract. You think that shit is written by someone who knows what they are talking about or someone who saw Hamilton go into a mini slump to start the season and thought his opinion counted.

Open your eyes a little wider. They certainly do check message boards (several I know of did this past Saturday night). That is a fact.

Oh, and in the event you have a comprehension issue...I never said any of what is written here, or anywhere, is reliable or written in stone. That especially goes for anyone that reads your blabbering drivel. What I said was whomever jumped the gun (on several UW players was WRONG) and it caused a unnecessary stir. Again, another FACT for you.

Again LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL! What agent, coach, player, players agent got their panties in a wad over something posted on Wyonation by a anonymous poster? Nothing you ever read on this board will used as insider info on ESPN!, Fox news maybe.
And I don't know what I'm talking about, holy shit....

lol I seem like I should be on gowyogo, yet you are the one claiming that these message boards actually have an impact on the sporting world. That seems like something who pays big bucks just to think they are an "insider" would do.

Enough with the pissing match. Because I don't think what is said on here means shit to an NFL team doesn't mean you have to get insulted and start talking crap back.

I don't think you dumbasses get what he's trying to say.

I'd say that social media of all kinds can have an effect. It stirs people up and calls to action. You think that if someone reads something on a board goes to twitter, asks a reporter and the reporter asks around, it doesn't have an effect? Hell, all it takes is one tweet to start an avalanche of misinformation. You don't think that gets out there pretty quick? We have a guy on this board that claims to be the father of a player. Someone posts something, father asks son, son asks teammates, next thing you know, no one remembers where it came from. Not saying UW or NFL team checks boards, but the path from a board to someone important is a lot shorter than you think.

Exactly, message boards and social media are good for one thing.....quick, misinformation.

Coaches, agents, and owners all know that. They aren't going to pay attention to anyone's social media page except the players themselves. Why would a coach look at wyonation.com to find out about a player when he could just contact the agent/player himself? Why would an agent check a message board for information when he could just contact the team/player himself?

We as mere fans rely on message boards because we don't have these connections.

This is dumb. Most message board posters are not journalists and are certainly not held to the same standard. If noone posted anything before they were certain and double and triple checked their sources....nothing would ever get posted. As long as it is not an outright fabrication or slander/defamation of character post away.

Lol this is very dumb. Does saying that these message boards have an impact on the real sports world make people feel better for spending so much time on Wyonation?

Like justifying it because you believe that news breaks here and is a reliable place for info if you're an agent? haha

Drama queen. Nobody said it has an impact...

People read, and pay attention to all this social media / outlets though. You are a fool if you think your future employer won't do a complete review of your FB account, Twitter account, et al, prior to hiring your ass.
