I would say a good seed is in the 1-5 or 6 range and usually those are Top 25 teams. I think that being a battle tested team with having that bulls-eye on your back throughout the season would only mean a positive thing come tournament time. Not to mention the positive media coverage that the school would receive from that as well as recruits seeing that number next to the name of the school that is recruiting them along with the fan base. I would imagine that a Top 25 team in Laramie would draw more "fringe" fans in than a team not in the Top 25. I agree with this "gbpoke". I think we have to take advantage of the gift that Shyatt and this team have been able to deliver so early in this season. He is in his second year leading this program back and we are already in the discussion of a top 25 rating. If we can get it, take it and reap the benefits! Use the publicity and recognition to continue to build the program with better players.
We may get the ranking and not be able to hold onto it, I'm fine with that. Put WYOMING on the board and let this team fight like hell to keep it there.

So yes I do believe they are overrated, They haven't played anyone to earn that ranking. Now Duke on the other hand yes they are not over rated and they deserve that ranking.

Do I think we can beat SMU? Certainly. But doing so is a different matter. So long as we win, it's a good thing. Whether it'se by 1 or 100, a win is a win.
Oh, also, according to one site posted by someone on the MWC board, Wyoming is slated to finish tied for 1st in the MWC at 23-5, 11-5 in conference, in a 3 way tie.

The problem is that Wyoming and the MWC are not sufficiently used to the idea of our own teams being so good that it takes an excellent team to beat our own. The SEC, on the other hand, is used to the idea that really good teams loose games against other really good teams from time to time. SDSU lost by one point to a Top 5 team. In other words. SDSU is basically dead even with Arizona in terms of quality, but the clock has to run out of time at some point. I bet in a ten-game series, each would win five. How would we compare. Would we split the season with SDSU or Arizona? If yes, does that mean they are inferior and overrated because we can play with them? Or does that mean that we are also good? We need some better wins first, but if we want to argue we are among the best, then we have to accept that good teams will loose to us and still be good. despite the loss.

Keep in mind I was a bit intoxicated and just really do not like sdsu... I don't think they're overrated. I was just bashing them to bash them.
That game last night was crazy good. I thought sdsu was going to win it for sure when tapley broke free for that layup and then that arizona guy swatted that ball out. Crazy finish

Arizona played awful they found a way to win... they are undefeated and Solomon Hill is a monster... they haven't lost and now have 2 very good wins, yet they arent a top ten team wyo2dal? come on man

FYI they had 8 turn overs in that game, SDSU had 15 while they didn't have a great shooting night I would call what they played as average and nowhere near awful. They shot 6% less than SDSU from the floor and 2% more from the land of three.
You want to root them on so be it that is your opinion mine is different.
