Does the MW use tie-breakers for championships?

If Wyo and SDSU are tied at 14-4, SDSU obviously has the tie-breaker for the #1 seed in the MWC-Tourney, but do we still win the MWC Regular Season Championship? Or, in this case Co-Champ?

I am pretty sure it is a shared conference title. It would be better if it was a 3 way tie though in this case with SDSU, Boise and WYO since we at least beat BSU. Doesn't feel right calling ourselves co champs with just SDSU since they beat us both times.

Look at it this way.... SDSU beat us without our best player. Outside of the Wyo-SDSU games, Wyo would have gone 14-2 where SDSU would have gone 12-4. SDSU would be 0-2 vs Boise, 1-1 vs CSU, a combined 1-3 against teams we are 3-0 against.

It might not look pretty, but at the end of the 18 games, they would have not done anything to differentiate themselves from us.

Don't lie...if Wyoming-SDSU tied at 14-4 and the Pokes had been the team to win both meetings, Wyoming fans would be furious at the idea of sharing the title. Three-way tie makes sense, but co-champs with SDSU? You take it of course, but it would feel a little disingenuous.

Beggers can't be choosers.

The only people that would be furious would be the people that don't understand how rankings work.

How about I look at it as those SDSU beat us with Nance playing which they did. We don't know that would we would have beat them with Nance in San Diego. My guess is we wouldn't have. Anyways I am going by what actually happened not what ifs.

In my opinion it would be better if there were a 3 way then just us and SDSU. If there is a 3 way tie I think we get the #1 seed anyways where as a 2 team tie we wouldn't.

Plus the 3 way tie opens the door up for Wyoming being left out of the Tourney a lot easier.

Pretty hard for Wyo to be left out if them and SDSU are co-champs and Wyo is clearly ahead of Boise and CSU considering the standings would require a leapfrog for Boise to get in.
But if Wyo, Boise, and SDSU are all tied for championship, it's easier to leave Wyo out because there would be no leapfrogging.

True. We did beat them though . Maybe we can play them again in the conference tournament. I hope we play them in the semi finals actually.

My guess is we would have, USING THE SCHEME USED AGAINST NEVADA.

We would be co-champs if we had the same record and I wouldn't complain one bit. I also wou;dn't complain one bit about it if the scenario was reversed and we swept SDSU. I would rather be co-champs with one other team than co-champs with two others.

Looking at the MW website. it appears we would be the 3 seed if we tied tree wayhttp://mwc-platform.silverchalice.co/v3/files/5411d7b0e4b06a01d0971052

Boise beats SDSU and we all are 14-4 tiebreakers go with overall record against all teams that are tied.

UW 1-2
BSU 2-1
SDSU 2-2

So BSU gets the 1 seed then it goes to a 2 team tie breaker for 2 seed and SDSU swept us wo we get the 3 seed.

*edited the post cuz I forgot BSU already beat SDSU once so it changed my results.

when we go 12-15 years between good/great teams and in a position to win a conf title, sure we'd be mad if we share but unlike an SDSU that wins it every year we have every reason to be upset. we haven't even sniffed it since 2002, it's our time to shine..lol
