Did Boise blow up MW expansion + title game?

Been reading some tweets today saying that Boise blew up the Mountain West's idea for expansion, and a conference title game, because it didn't want double jeopardy having to play conference title game to get to BCS bowl.

And quite a few BSU fans are going into meltdown mode because Rocky Long said that he didn't think BSU was going to be the toughest game in the conference. I never thought I'd say this, but I hope BSU has a down cycle after this year, just to shut a lot of their fans up.

Not just SJSU, but USU too. It was a so-called "Done deal" for both of them in January. Apparently BSU shot that down. Hard to believe though.....Wilner is hardly credible. He is widely known as one of the worst sports reporters in the country. Take whatever he says with a grain of salt.

Like Dan Wolken said, if the MWC has the power to demand that BSU not wear blue on blue at home for MWC home games, how do they have the power to shoot down that deal? Sounds like more horse!shit from Wilner.

SJSU might not bring a lot to the table in terms of athletics and success, but they bring a HUGE television market to expand into.. so while no one in San Jose may not give a flying fcuk about the Spartans, that's one more market TheMTN can put its product. However, I don't think MW schools would scoff at 5M in their collective banks if a title game were to happen..

Surprisingly, Nevada's crowds are just as pathetic, if not worse. Its sh!t like those crowds that baffle me that Montana is not an FBS school. UNR may win ball games(For now, anyway), but they are barely FBS caliber from a support stand point.

Oh God, please not Baylor. Tech would be a great pickup, but Baylor adds nothing to the puzzle (TV/recruiting market would be picked up by Tech). Kansas St would be another good one.

Do they? Isn't the Mtn's deal with DirceTV based on the state the schools are in? So since SDSU is there, shouldn't all homes in CA that get Direct be able to get the Mtn?

Regardless, I don't think SJSU and USU are worth the trouble. We need to be pretty careful how we expand at this point, and not just expand to expand.

So, all we have is speculation on possible expansion for a CCG and an extra $5mill. No teams named, no deadline, no sources, nothing. I have no doubt that a meeting took place, and it probably was to discuss expansion, but we don't know anymore other than they aren't expanding.

And some Donkey State fan posted a link to Cougerboard of all places last night making BSU's AD out to be a bully and having all the power and clout to change votes completely. And that His master plan was to get BYU and USU into the fold rather than Texas based teams.
