Depth Chart..

Probably next Monday. That's been the standard for the past 6 seasons or so, and I don't expect it will change. Expect to see a bunch of "OR"s for positions.

Looks like Parks will be the other starting corner and Merritt will be the 3rd CB.

I'll do a stream on Monday breaking down the depth chart once it is released.

Very interesting choices at the WR positions. Not what I would have predicted based on what few things the coaches had to say about the position during spring and fall camp.

The other thing that pops out at me is a redshirt freshman starting at left tackle. That is a big ask for a guy with limited time in the program and who is slightly undersized. I hope he up to that task.

The last 4 years of watching Wyoming football leave me puzzled how Pelissier is backing up Alex Brown. We are so stacked at Defensive End. DeVonne Harris is a starter at every other MWC school.

I think that the revamped offense will probably show us why. Pelissier is a deep threat, as is King. Our previous OCs have used them a lot because they loved go routes (see Neyor's sophomore season). Might we see *gasp* a SLANT run from time to time?!

This is the year to utilize the speed of Pelissier and King. There are only a few teams in the country (if any) with the arm strength we have a QB.

Probably pretty tough for a HC to put a true FR on the depth chart game 1. Hopefully he has gained some lean muscle and not effected his speed. 155# was what I weighed in 7th grade.

and it's only a 2 deep. He's not going to be an every down kind of guy like the top 2 but if we don't have one play for this kid each game, that'll be shame. Same goes for King and some of the others. I hope Bouknight was able to lend his expertise on this matter. A lot of plays we ran for him would be good for them.
Is Durr fast or just really good hands and routes? I've heard them talk about Pellisier and King's speed but cant recall if Durr was super speedy.

Biggest surprise is that Brayden Siders is starting over DeVonne Harris. Also a bit surprising to me that Pelissier isn't starting. Chris Durr nowhere to be seen on the depth chart.
I thought Durr was a lock to play?? We’ve had articles about him. What the heck

Pelisser is a much better receiver, but whatever. And the three-headed monster of Harsh, Siders and Harris is going to be formidable.

I am a little worried about the interior d line

From what I remember, he is very fast, and has a quick step - with some shifty moves. Checking my HC notes, I have him slotted as the starting punt returner.

It is odd. I remember an article from the spring in which Sawvel was quoted as saying Durr Jr needed to add 8-10 pounds over the summer in order to crack the 2-deep and see the field as a true freshman. In that same article Bouknight was asked if he saw anyone on the team who had the potential to be as good as he was - his answer was Chris Durr Jr.

It was reported that when Durr Jr arrived in the spring, he weighed in at 143 pounds (for real). It was also reported that he arrived at fall camp weighing 171 pounds. Is that too much weight too fast? It would seem difficult to add 28 pounds of lean muscle over the course of 4 months. Maybe some of that weight impacted his athleticism and/or speed? I guess we will find out soon enough if he sees the field this year or not.
