Dear Scott Nulph: You have lost your mind

In today's WTE, Scott Nulph (never known for his brazen/honest opinion) labels the Wyoming Football team with the following line: "The Cowboys are exactly what they're record says they are: an average football team."

How Scottie wrote that line with a straight face is beyond me.

Writers such as Nulph, in my opinion, are part of the problem, part of the malaise, part of the; 'we know who we are' crowd, who chafes at anyone suggesting that Wyoming sports can be much more than they have been.

Retire, Scott.

Maybe take some lessons from Mike Vorel.

Or go back to covering Iowa State.

Maybe Cyclones fans can be seduced with such absurdity and tomfoolery.

An 'average' football team?

P.S. Predictably, Nulph is in favor of Christensen returning next season. Of course he is.

Shit, after witnessing this season and the entire DC tenure, I wish we were an average team. We can beat crap teams and struggle, usually losing to everyone else.

Since DC arrived we are 18 - 4 vs FCS teams, CSU, UNLV, Idaho and NM. Not a bad record, but it's against the dregs.

Our record vs everyone else is 8 - 29. And who were those other 8 wins? Florida Atlantic, Toledo, Bowling Green, AF, SDS and FSU. The best of those, FSU when they finished 3rd in the WAC and SDS when they finished 8 - 5.

Going forward it appears that CSU, UNLV and even NM may be getting their shit together. So where will our future wins come from? Hopefully, AF and Hawaii continue their downslide. We can't even feel comfortable vs. future FCS teams. You can pencil in a loss for next year's FCS game.

Average, we can only dream...
