DC just posted on his facebook page a special unveiling....

My video recruiting music...

Anthem for the Underdog - 12 Stones
Smack Down - Thousand Foot Krutch
Watch You Crawl - RED
Frontline - Pillar
For the Love of the Game - Pillar
Not Without A Fight - Pillar
Definitely my options. A beat, good rythem, hard, and all with messages of not giving up, unity and just give all you got. I think that would appeal nicely.
I honestly didn't mind this song today. i thought it was nicely done for a local group. And I'm not big into rap.

I don't really know what my recruiting video would sound like.. I have a pretty eclectic music taste... my Pandora station is all over the map as far as music goes.
Ditto. I think would have to with something kinda psychobilly... Hank Williams III maybe. Country roots but fast and heavy. I dunno. I go from Chris Ledoux to NOFX to the Beastie Boys on my Pandora while at work.

I can go from Chris LeDoux > Young Dubliners > Metallica > Korn > Jay-Z... I love a good crazy playlist.

Love the young Dubs.

I can't get jacked to the song. I just can't. However watching a video of Virginia Tech entering the stadium to Metallica makes me want to rip someone to pieces. Hands down the greatest entrance in my mind. I actually used to feel pretty close to that with the Pokes entrance video. Bon Jovi ain't the hardest but it got me pumped. I can only hope the entrance video is cool.

You guys must be crazy for liking this song. Let me start by I saying I am a student at UW who has been around the athletic department. Here is my take. Let's start from a marketing perspective. This song was made by a group from Laramie which already has a few other songs. If you look at their myspace page these songs are on there. All of the songs have to do with using marijuana. Is it a good idea for a state university to hire a group that openly endorses and uses marijuana? From the recruiting aspect I honestly doubt it will entice recruits. Most recruits that are into rap will laugh at these guys. The song itself is very repetitive. The idea of mixing cowboy Joe with a rap beat is cool but the beat has no flow not to mention the lyrics are horrible. I am a huge Wyoming supporter but you can't rap about things you can't do. I just really don't think this was a good call as an athletic department or as a university. Really surprised the AD signed off on this. I hope the team is far better than the song.
if you have the opportunity to read the lyrics to most, if not all, mainstream hip hop, you would notice that all of the lyrics kinda suck...i would even go further and say that these lyrics are in the top twenty of quality

for the record, i'm primarily a death metal kind of guy but i will listen to just about anything if the artist involved put some work into it and these guys did...most indy rap i've heard is uually some guy ripping off beats from well known mainstream hip hop tunes, and i appreciate the sampling of the fight song

not a metallica fan...not even a little

I like it. And I think the players will like it too. Especially if the crowd participates.

I am ready for some football.

All for it. I've got to work with a few of the bands at different times.

Most rap sucks to begin with. and based on everyone's choice of music, any rap song would suck. And I'm sure there is plenty of rap artists that have songs being played on loud speakers that have other songs that condone the use of illicit drugs. Secondly almost all the bands being listed as "good bands" have songs about drugs, but since they are in the "classic rock" genre, it is acceptable. You're telling me ACDC don't have songs about drugs? Get off it people. Take it for what it is.

this 100%

hell...i'm pretty sure i've heard purple haze at a few public events....in fact, this particular rap song is completely lacking in the vulgarity that turns most people off from rap music in the first place

ps, my vehicle has got a halfway decent upgraded stereo system including a couple of 12" woofers running at 750 RMS......after playing this in my rig, i'm afraid for the livelyhood of the WMS speakers if they do end up playing this during games

Not my taste...but I asked some HS kids what they thought...guess what? They loved it.

Go figure.
If only we has a reason for our football team to seem attractive to high school kids.....

Ugh. The only thing I liked about that was that I was part of the original "Cowboy Joe" recording. Done in the fieldhouse circa 1999. :D
I was part of the recording that they used. Done in the fine arts auditorium circa 2001 :D
