David Fales almost was a Cowboy??

Just skimming through David Fales wikipedia page and came across this:

After the University of Wyoming offered Fales a non-scholarship position, Fales took a summer class at Wyoming in 2011 but returned to Monterey Peninsula for the fall.

Am I way out of the loop here and this was common knowledge, or was this one of those cases of no one knew who he was at the time so no one cared?

Not a big deal now I suppose, just news to me.

Not sure how well known it was but I was familiar with it, Because of all the talk where Brett was almost a Spartan.

You're not alone WWP, news to me as well.

It was easy to miss. It was in one of like four different threads going when we played SJSU last year. It wasn't much. But he was being recruited about the time we had ACS, so he chose SJSU. I think we came out on top though with Smith. All around Smith was a far better QB. Fales was just a Pocket passer QB, not balanced at all. Rarely did you have to worry about Fales on the ground.

The NFL disagrees.

But yes, this was common knowledge.

Seems like Fales' parents were from Wheatland, or had a parent living there.. something to that effect.

I had heard his dad lived in Torrington and because his dad resided there spent three weeks in Laramie taking a summer class. Saw that Brett Smith was pretty much entrenched as the starter and went back to the JC in the fall.
