Dave Christensen likes/does not like, WYOMING?

I've read with interest on the board the last few years -- folks who when referring to Dave Christensen, some seem to believe he is coaching at WYO despite not enjoying the place.

I find this interesting.

Those of you who feel this way, could you please be more specific as to why it is that you have this feeling?

Thank you in advance for your considered thoughts...

From what I know and have heard, he likes the place. Is it his favorite place? I don't know - ask him. Is it his hell - I don't know ask him.

Is he going to leave for somewhere else when someone offers him a big paycheck? Possibly. It would probably be better to ask him as its probably alot more complicated than that.

Is he going to score some big points this season - yeah - i think he's calling the plays just fine. I would guess he needs some support from Wyoming Athletics to boost the Wyoming Defense.

That's what really matters. I hope he stays around. If he doesn't - best of luck - he'll do great elsewhere too!

Go Pokes!

he makes 1.25 MILLION dollars!!!!

I think he likes it just fine.

Do you think that Urban Myer enjoyed Florida? I bet he did.

How about Chris Ault at Nevada?

Coaches stay with contracts until they think they can make more.

Until Dave proves too some school that he deserves more at another school...

Dave will like Laramie.

I believe that Christensen is connected to this staff and roster. He will not go all Dennis Erickson and bolt at midnight.

What matters is that the "Wyoming Athletic Department" is currently in a financial position to offer the same or better contract to any situation that presents itself, should Dave get an offer.

So who holds the cards... Dave, or Wyoming?

This is amazing...I've read countless amounts of posts from time to time from POKES fans who have indicated previously that DC does not like it in Laramie...I was hoping to get an explanation.

I was never under that impression

I guess I missed them too, even though I check the forums pretty regularly.

He seems to like it quite a bit from what I can tell. His kids have also grown to like it and support the program and their dad.

Since there has obviously been so many posts like you say, maybe you would care to link to them?

Start a thread like this on the eve of the Border War where people only have one option to respond, i.e. you're right ?Give me a break man.

There is usually one thread a year on it. The threads aren't titled whether DC like it here, it's usually a fire DC or hate DC thread where the subjects change about half way through.

I've been trying to auction him off to some other fanbase on the MWCboard, but so far the only taker is one of SteveAztec's personalities, and the Aztecs have pretty well disowned him.

Please, stop the name calling and ad hominem attacks. It is moronic, juvenile, and adds nothing to the discussion. It diminishes the target, the author...and ultimately reflects poorly on us all.

For example: If I were to say that UfuknDub's unfortuante choice of handle and shallow and acrid rhetoric revealed that he was probably brainless gintzel oilfield trash living in a trailer in North Dakota who acts like he learned his manners in RockSprings...it adds nothing to our discussion.,,and it makes me look as bad as UfuknDub...

It is far better to address the issue at hand :If you have something to add, make an argument and support it. If you dont like the entire thread, get on here and say so-and why you dont like it, or ignore it. But please stop the personal attacks and name calling. It is pointless and petty and makes our entire fan base look ridiculous and juvenile. :tickedoff:

Look it, I'm not going to go back through posts to find specific examples of what I am pointing out, but I would not have asked this question and looked for responses if I did not see specific examples of this previously.

And...thank you for your time.

I know he has told me personally that he likes it here. His family even likes it here. But they chose to stay in missou for his youngest daughter to finish school. I think her senior year was last year. I know his wife has been seen around Laramie more and more this year. I don't know what their family plans are and frankly don't care, as long as it doesn't effect his job coaching. And out of what I've seen, it hasn't.
