Larry! Take out Barns. He's bad. Dalton can't score and is a TO machine. Put in Naughton and give Marshall a chance! I can guarantee Marshall has the chops to contribute and isn't scared to shoot and take it to the rack and will probably rebound at Dalton or Barns's level. This is getting ridiculous

Dalton played good against the Aztecs so I don't have a problem with him. At least he competes. As far as the rest though I agree Naughton needs to play more and I am not even sure why Marshall even got a scholarship if Shyatt was never going to play him. Basically just a waste. I am starting to wonder if they are going to recruit more guys and some people will be leaving the team at the end of the year.

Anyways this season isn't going to have any post season play for this team . I expect next years team to be a lot better. Basically these young guys are playing for experience and next year and beyond. Josh on the other hand is playing for the NBA draft.

I totally agree. Why get him out here is he's not going to play.

The sad part is he seems like he could help the team in a couple different area's. Have no idea why he doesn't get more minutes or atleast as many as a couple of other guys who maybe shouldn't even have scholarships. Shyatt must be seeing something the rest of us aren't. Which is why I am wondering if we see some more attrition at the end of the year.

Marshall would obviously be a tiny 4, but so is Dalton. Marshall has the athleticism and skill to make up for it enough to be on the level of the "big" guys on this roster. I really can't understand how he hasn't seen the court unless he has the same basketball IQ as Barnes.

Agree Naughton needs more playing time, Barnes doesn't have the foot work or the soft touch around the room. Dalton had a great game at SDSU, so he gets a hall pass. Morris needs to play, it can't hurt. Adams is playing to get drafted in the 2nd round, otherwise he's going to Europe. Larry needs to rip up the playbook and the lineup and start with some newbies to see if the chemistry is better. Either that or start playing for next year by letting the guys you want to stay and start play a lot more minutes. 13-18 is my prediction this year. At least Larry Nance is killing it at the Lakers, Go Nance.

Biggest disappointment so far this season is our use of a scholly here if this guy can't hack it. He's a junior and you'd hope the staff can eye a guy that can compete at MWC level as a junior. We don't know everything that's going on but we know that one of our upperclassmen scholly players doesn't get a lick of PT. The one thing that's bothered me most about Shy is the lack of loading up on bigs. Imagine if MoMarsh was a junior big that could even see 10 mins, play low post D, score 2-6 points, and grab 5+ rebounds. We'd have about 4 more wins already maybe more.

Back to the title question of this thread. Naughton absolutely has to play more minutes. He turned the tide in his limited appearance coming in while not even being close to being a world beater. He helps our spacing of the court, our fluidity, and is the only other presence in the paint besides Herndon. I feel like Jordan has a good bball IQ. Naughton is exactly the kind of big I LOVE having in the program. Can we please clone a few more of him?

As far as Marshall goes I already said it in another thread. I'm not sold because there's been nothing to sell. I haven't even gotten to see his limited minutes this season. I could be wrong about him because this JB over Naughton thing has me mystified right now so I can't totally rule out a similar thing with MoMarsh. It's still different though as Naughton has showed things I've liked from every minute he's been on the court this year. Again while rough around the edges at times Naughton has clearly looked to be a top 3 big all year long to me from what he brings to the table. Can you say the same about Marshall?

Marshall passes the eye test. He's 10x more athletic than Gorski, Lieberman and Washington. He needs to be given a chance

Landerpoke - Bird wasn't athletic, Nash wasn't athletic, not every player needs to be athletic, they just need to be fantastic at the fundamentals, don't turn the ball over and for God and Country, make a SHOT.

Cowboys prove me wrong on my 13-18 prediction, PLEASE, I want to be wrong, trust me.

I'm not sure what your argument is. Are you arguing for Dalton by comparing him to Larry Bird and Steve Nash? 2 NBA hall of camera with elite skills to make up their perceived lack of athleticism? Because Dalton posses no such elite skill. If he was a 48% 3 point shooter or something like that to cover up his lack of beef that'd be a different thing. Marshall at least has passed the eye test in the limited time he has played, and frankly it's baffling why you give a juco guy a scholly to presumably help bridge the gap of youth and inexperience only to never play him.

Dalton's careless play with the ball with all of the TO's is unacceptable. Not covering for him and he needs to gain about 35lbs ASAP as the SDSU guys bounced him around easily. I'm not sure why Shyatt isn't playing Marshall - could it be off the court issues? He looked good in the earlier games and had a lot of energy. I think Shyatt and the assistant coaches are not making the best subs this year. Clearly last year was much easier with a solid starting five and a rotation of 2 to 3 guys.
