We have to beat CSU... I hate seeing people pick them to get in the tournament over Wyoming, when Wyoming beat them... i mean killed them

It all has to do with their ooc schedule. They played a much tougher one than us. If we beat them in fort collins, that will change things. We might even have to play them again in the tournament. First things first. We have New Mexico there and Air force at home. If we win both games and then beat csewe, were in like flint.

For what it is worth, it looks like the national media is using CSU's RPI ranking as an example of the problems with the RPI formula.

I will be curious to see whether the net effect of the TCU road loss combined with the home win over UNLV.

With our schedule, I suspect that the only way we are in for certain is if we catch lightning in a bottle in Vegas for about three days in a row.

Looking at conference tournament bracket seedings, there is not a nickel's worth of difference between finishing 4th or 5th. Unless something changes during the second half of the conference season, I assume we will be playing CSU in the first round with the winner facing the #1 seed in the semifinals. From what I have seen, I expect New Mexico to finish 3rd and, as of now, to play TCU in the first round. If we either step up to 3rd or down to 6th, that might not be a bad route through the MWC bracket. Of course, finishing 6th pretty much kills any NCAA at-large hopes.

I am only concerned with the next game. UNM at the pit. all this tournament talk is lame. Win the games in front of us. UNM is directly ahead of us in the conference race. This is a game we need to steal bad! We didn't play them well in laramie. We need the effort we gave UNLV to beat them at the pit. Go Cowboys!

That is the perfect attitude to take as a player and as a team. Thankfully we, as fans, get to step back and speculate how things might unfold.

If the team simply wins the next game each game from here on out, my tournament seeding guesses will be completely wrong and irrelevant.

The Pit is a tough place to steal a win at, but it is not impossible.

Go Pokes!

Bought my tickets for the sheep pokes game today. There will be 3 of us (including me) driving down to Foco from Laramie.

Had to do it from the sheep website though.
But I was wondering if anybody else has and what section they got?
mine are section D I think. Heard that's where the Pokes fans sit

wasn't gonna go, but the more I think about it and only living in Cheyenne, figure what the heck so bringing myself and maybe 1 or 2 more Pokes fans to Beeet the Sheeeeep
