CSU-Boise ending

Did you guys see the ending in the CSU-Boise game?

What a fucking joke.

Boise player makes a buzzer beater, ball is out of his hand with PLENTY of time, and the refs waved it off, game went to 2OT and the sheep ended up winning.

MWC refs straight up took a win away from Boise State and gifted CSU a win.

The MW released a statement saying it took 1.2 or 1.3 seconds for the ball to leave his hands after he touched it.

No way.
 
That was so fucked up.

Is the conference actively trying lose credibility? 2 blown calls in 2 weeks that cost someone a game, arbitrary/inconsistent disciplinary actions, the new tournament structure...
 
It's karma for them being handed a win vs. us when Josh was suspended. It'll come full circle when we beat CSU on some joke of a call.
 
They said the clock didn't start when he touched the ball so they timed it with a stopwatch overlay on the replay screen and it too 1.2 to 1.3 seconds instead of 0.8. Did they get it wrong? I don't know. The conference is a joke and has been making about one terrible decision a week but this is the least of them in my mind or they may have gotten this one correct. This one would be on the refs anyway and they aren't "MW refs". Refs ref games in any and all conferences.
 
Maybe if we were lucky this could signal the beginning of the end for Craig Thompson. I'm glad Jay Bilas Enjoyed this as seen below. And who said any publicity was good publicity?

I dislike David Hall as much I dislike any human on earth. He is absolute referee scum. He is the worst official in the business. That being said, I think he got this call right. That slow mo replay did show that the clock did not start when he touched the ball. He took his steps and started the shot before the clock started. I can't stand Hall and I HATE CSU but I think it was a good call.

Webb got the shot off with 0.4 remaining on the game clock, meaning he caught the ball and shot it in 0.4 seconds according to the game clock. Refs said it took 1.3 seconds for him to catch and release the ball. Sure, the game clock may have been delayed by 0.1 or 0.2. But in order to wave off the basket, the game clock would have had to be delayed by 0.9 seconds!! You can't honestly tell me the clock was delayed for nearly a full second.

This is getting lots of publicity. Deadspin says based on how many frames Webb had the ball he held it for .57 seconds. The refs blew it!

:rofl: That's the funniest thing I've read in a long time. And now it's all I see when looking at it. This made the whole thing worth it.

By the way, refs were wrong. In that slow motion video, each tenth clicks off about like a real-time second. The clock didn't start right away, but he catches the ball and releases with 0.4 left. If each tenth were a second, the refs are saying the clock was 3 seconds late in starting. No way.

As much as I hate it, Boise got screwed.
