Tim Miles is a hard guy to follow.

I guess he read the writing on the wall and said, "You've got a great coach that is able to win in a building very few people have ever won in and you're investing your money in football?"

I think this is a big loss for them. He had recruited some good players - Eikmeir and Hornung were pretty good. Word in Fort Collins is they offered him more money to stay but not enough. Plus, it's rumored that his wife hated Fort Collins.

Your link don't work

Here is a working link - Miles leaving CSU for Nebraska job

Details of a five-year contract with a rollover for a sixth that would pay the coach $1.4 million a year for the first year, with an automatic increase of $75,000 each year thereafter.

GL to coach Miles while I don't like CSU he was a very outstanding coach that brought a dead program up.

Well, now CSEwe needs to find someone who can, at the very least, keep the program along the same course, if not better. Otherwise, they'll have a decent year or two, and then fall off the basketball map again.

he was one of the few likable MWC coaches. Good for the border war though

From my perspective, this is great news all the way around. I am also a Husker fan (grad school) and this is a great hire for Nebraska because I have been impressed with Coach Miles all along. I think this will also expose CSU to more frequent beat-downs. The bad part of this is that Miles did have the guts to play a schedule that helped the MWC RPI and I would still rather see CSU beat the CU Buffs any day.

Good for Wyoming, good for Nebraska, hard on CSU, it can't get much better than that from my perspective.

Honestly, I'm sad to see Miles go. As much as I hated to see it, CSewe with strong programs is good for the conference. I don't think there was much of anything CSewe could have done to keep him around though, he definitely saw the writing on the wall.

You've got to like this statement from Graham though, in the Coloradoan: "I think as much as anything what frustrates me is that it reflects the old CSU," Graham said, "in the sense of this orientation that great coaches come here, and there's always this list of people who view this as a stepping stone to move on to something else. And that era is done. That is not who we are and what we are going forward, and so it's up to us to deliver the kind of results that we need to deliver to establish that as a reality. CSU is a destination that great coaches should be at and should want to stay at their entire careers, and that's what we're doing going forward."

Really Jack? Are we doing that in all of our sports, or only football? You had a winning program, with a great coach, but you're so blinded by the new stadium that you couldn't toss a couple mil to the basketball program for facilities upgrades (by which I mean a complete redo of Moby so it's not a high school gym and new practive facilities)? Interesting to see who they bring in, and if Graham will put a similar commitment behind basketball.

GO POKES!
