It talks about how his recruiting style is modeled after Tom Osborne.

Good article and really highlights the discussion we've been having about "recruiting stars" and development.

I liked the Osborne quote about kids he begged vs. kids who wanted to be there.

The one thing I always respected was the Osborne/Nebraska walk-on program. They perfected the art of getting guys that wanted to be there, by fostering an environment where even those that didn't land a scholarship would flock to Lincoln in numbers. Nebraska had a lot of major players on their team that came out of that walk-on program. I can already see Craig Bohl duplicating that in Laramie.

There's a reason why Nebraska could compete with Oklahoma and Texas without Oklahoma/Texas as their local recruiting footprint. It's because they got some skinny Nebraska high school graduates and turned them into corn fed monsters on the oline.

It's not a quick fix, but it's being built right here in Laramie.

Is it ? CJ Johnson is the one of highest-rated WR recruits to attend Wyoming in years.

Which begs the question: why the hell did we stop recruiting Nebraska for all those years?

The two are not mutually exclusive.

More good press about what Bohl learned from Osborne, explaining the WR coach hiring process.

Do you know who was a higher rated WR? Trent Sewell. Just saying.

Johnson has a similar ranking to Brett Smith. It's hit and miss, but more often hit if you recruit right.

A "turf war" for recruiting between WYO and NU? Somehow I don't think so. NU is always going to recruit well. They are always going to get players because of their name, history, and tradition. Schools like us are going to have to bust balls just to get some of the talent. Doesn't mean we won't, but just saying I don't think it's going to be a good comparison to compare such recruiting...
