Not sure if anyone else watched the Cowgirls against Chadron. I just saw the 2nd half on WyoVision (which means I only saw about 25% since they had to replay every Cowgirl possession since they kept scoring).
Anyway, the level of competition wasn't great, but the Cowgirls looked very sharp. The ball moves constantly and moves with purpose. Sometimes when you watch our Men's team they are moving the ball, but with no real intent to score (running the weave on the perimeter for 1/2 the shot clock for example). The Cowgirls don't do that. They are constantly on the attack looking for cutters flashing open at the rim or shooters coming free off of movement.
Really interesting to watch Rader play. Much different than anyone we have had in the post in a long time. Simply overwhelmed a small Chadron team. I was mostly impressed by her hands (did a great job catching entry passes and quick looks) and her aggressiveness. You would have never thought she was a true freshman. She wanted the ball and when she got it, she looked to score (although the prettiest play was a pass she made to Hoffman, almost a no-look drop off type pass).
Will be interesting to see how Legerski works her into the offense. He is used to playing with a 5 that is more perimeter oriented. Rader is a true post with the size to match.
The Cowgirls perimeter looks very good. Impressed with Jasmine Davis.
I didn't get to see a ton of Woodward, Mileto, and Dent but it looks like they were dominant in their time on the court as expected.
