More importantly, the Cowboys qualify 6 for Nationals with a chance to qualify a 7th!! I was being very optimistic with a prediction of 5 qualifiers. Things could not have gone much better for the Pokes in the finals, WOW! McCulley deserves an at-large selection. McCulley absolutely deserved to go last year as well but was left out.

McCade Ford was quite the surprise winner. Way to come through for a Senior!

The Cowboys pulled off some pretty serious shit in the finals.. 10 wrestlers in and only 1 lost.. how does this even happen?? Probably one of the biggest wrestling comebacks in WWC history. North Dakota State is gonna be pretty bitter about this loss for a while. One thing I didn't know, Air Force had a local Missoula boy wrestling for them at heavyweight. Would have liked to have seen this tournament with Northern Iowa involved..

What they did in the finals is unheard of. I don't think anyone really thought Wyoming could pull it off going into the finals round. What it shows is how important wrestlebacks can really be.

I know you like the Montana athletes...wait until you see Ben Stroh from Harlem, MT next year! Stroh redshirted this year. Last year he was ranked 3rd in the Nation in High School and won 101 straight matches by pin. That is unbelievable to win 101 straight matches by pin. I believe it is the National record.

I completely agreee with you. I would have also liked to see Northern Colorado able to compete. 5 teams in a conference tournament is just not enough and potentially could cause a wrestler that has had a great season to miss nationals by one unlucky loss at the regional (i.e. McCulley).

Can't blame UNI from joining the MAC after Missouri did. The MAC is turning into a really good wrestling conference. I'd like to see some sort of merger with the PAC. Wyoming and Boise State should absolutely be in the same wrestling conference.

Didn't Wyoming apply for PAC-10 membership a few years ago for wrestling after the MWC dropped the sport?

Wait.. I just realized UNC wasn't there. Why weren't they there? Did they drop wrestling?

Also.. I only like the Montana athletes because they're all I read about.. Stroh was terrific up at Chinook.. so many good wrestlers in this state and no where to go unless they go to Wyoming or NDSU.. or even Boise. Sprenkle from NDSU is from Billings. Wyoming has the Stroh brothers from Chinook, plus Mendenhall from Great Falls and had Dallaserra from Butte.

One of my Facebook friends (a UNI alum) was so pissed off at Wyoming and UVSU for backing out of duals w/ UNI because they joined the MAC but it's like.. whatever. Wrestling isn't a profitable sport, gotta cut costs.. UNI is a better fit in the MAC.. they're missed for sure, but it's the cost of doing business to keep your wrestling programs afloat.

UNC was suspended from postseason wrestling by the NCAA due to their academic issues. I believe their APR was under 900 and I believe they were the only wrestling team in te country to be suspended.
