Concussion Protocols

http://www.donbest.com/ncaaf/injuries/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

According to this site there are approximately 14 players "out for season" or "out indefinitely" due to a concussion around the country.

And I'm sure more than one of the "unknown" injuries is a concussion is well. The nice thing is that we are actually seeing these now, 10 years ago I bet there would be only maybe 2 or 3 concussions labeled as "season-ending".

I'm looking for some knowledgeable insight into the Concussion Protocols our program uses. Personally, I find it odd that we've had someone held out of six straight games as indicated by our protocols. Anecdotally, I've heard Wick, in particular, is showing signs of brain damage vs. concussion.

If anyone has some solid insight or more info about Wick's condition, I'm sure there are others who'd find it interesting...

I don't have any insight into Wick's condition, but "brain damage v. concussion" is not really a dichotomy. A concussion IS a traumatic brain injury.
Generally, an injury is something one recovers from. Damage is (or can be) permanent.

Yeah, but "damage" is the result of concussions or sub-concussive impact. Research is showing even one concussion is having permanent effects on a significant percentage of people who suffer one. You don't get to permanent damage without traumatic brain injury.
