Combine ball velocity results

Michael Soltys, Instructor at University of Colorado Boulder (2013-present)

In 1935, the Chicago Bears threw a 83 yard pass. If we assume the pass was thrown at 45 degrees, and that the ball was thrown and caught at roughly the same height, the velocity of the football would have been 61 mph. If the angle was over or under that 45 degree angle, the velocity would have been even higher!

Ryan Flaherty, a quarterback coach who spent weeks prepping Allen for the NFL Combine, told NFL Network he expects the Wyoming product to smash the combine record for pass velocity with a throw around 70 miles per hour. The record, held by Patrick Mahomes, is 60. He also says Allen can throw a ball 90 yards.
