As a resident of Longmont - the damage everywhere sucks, and my commute takes longer because there's really only one way to get to my job now rather than four, but!

It's awesome how the community's pulled together. People are volunteering and helping others everywhere they can. I spent Sunday setting up the emergency center at the mall, and there was a TON of people there helping out. The big downside is that lives have been lost, but in terms of property damage, I think the sense of community people have gained may have almost made up for it...

As a former resident of Longmont myself -- where is most of the damage in the city to be found?

Pretty much all south of third street, with the exception of areas by Airport Road, where there is flooding all over (see video below)

119 out by I-25 is still under water.

Left Hand Brewery got lucky in that the city had just built up levees around St. Vrain where they're located, as part of a flood protection plan. The water JUST started spilling over, but not enough to do a whole lot of damage to most of their stuff - if it wasn't for Longmont building that up recently, the brewery (and much of my joy in life ;) ) would be gone.

Left Hand Brewery is the best in the whole state of Colorado. Thank god it wasn't affected!
Left Handed Milk Stout is quite possibly my favorite brew.

It's quite delicious. Have you tried their "Wake Up Dead," though? It's my favorite these days, though it can be hard to find.

Left Hand is good stuff. Glad they weathered ok.

As a Johnstown resident (just east of I-25, south of Loveland/Greeley), this is insane. The devastation will literally take years to fully recover from. And since there is now only one way out of our area as well, traffic definitely does suck!

But the response from the community has been amazing. We weren't directly affected, but spent the weekend and Monday helping residents that were, particularly in Milliken and south of Johnstown. The outpouring of support has been incredible, and has truly brought our community together. We'll come out stronger.

The Air Force game will be a nice diversion on Saturday. Really looking forward to that one.

GO POKES!
