This is now officially a clusterfuck.

It's funny, This format is exactly what I said it would be, they lumped all the mid major conferences into one selection the best school from all of them gets the 6th spot. The other 5 go to the top 5 teams that will likely be decided by some " secret polling method handled solely by computers " this is the same BCS nothing is changing really. I knew that is what it would come down to. However that means that teams that before never had a shot at even being involved can now be involved.

It's a long shot but a shot none the less.

What's really funny is that San Diego State and Boise State have exactly the same chance to make it as they would if they had stuck around in the MWC.

And BYU is in a worse position.

The real eye opener will be when Louisville, Cincinnati & Rutgers go to look for a better situation. B12 will take Louisville & Cincinnati. Maybe not Cin. but from a BB stand point they add some great value and FB not so much but it gets them to 12 teams and I think that is what the other teams beside Texas will want. Then the BE will be just the same type of a market as the other conferences. Houston & SMU bring absolutly nothing of value they are a one time trick pony.

SDSU and BSU get one thing out of this they never would have had in the MWC and that is a substantial revenue increase from the television deal that their president got them. However I'd be willing to bet they spend as much as they go in travel expenses alone so what did they really gain?

Sad that conferences were ripped apart for the old mighty dollar which came and went just as fast.
