Chance to make some hay in the schedule...

You're probably thinking I'm out of my damn mind. We've got road games at UNM, followed by a roadie at UNLV, and then SDSU at home. That would be pretty difficult for any team in the country. We won't be favorites in any of them and out of 350 college basketball schools, only about 50 of them would be likely to win ONE of those games.

That's why it's a chance to make some hay. If we get one win out of the three games, it's really going to shine on our post-season resume, it's an accomplishment that few teams in the MWC will match, and it will put us in position to get the first round bye to the MWC tournament.

I know Larry's going to have these kids focused on one game at a time, but right now the PRESSURE IS OFF. We're supposed to lose the next three. It's time to see if our kids can deliver against the odds. Bring on the Pit. Chance number one to shock the world starts Wednesday.

0/3 then big dance is not happening
1/3 we got a chance but will need to surprise a lot at the end of the season
2/3 then this team is legit and people need to take notice. Including other mwc teams, media, and more importantly, wyo fans need to take notice.
3/3 then this team is winning a mwc title. If anyone can win 3/3 against those 3 especially with 2 being on the road, the mwc should be going through their house

We'll be pretty heavy dogs in all of them. I'll be happy if we win one, tickled if we win two, and probably have a heart attack if we win all three.

We win all three, this is a Sweet Sixteen team. I think all three are win-able, but our best chance is SDSU at home. We'll see how the Rebels do on the road against the Sheep, but if they lose, UNLV will be a fun game to be at. We took it to UNM in Laradise, and there's a possibility Kirk's still out Wednesday. All three, individually are win-able, but odds are pretty long against winning more than one...

Folks, even if Wyoming won all 3 games they would still be on the outside of the NCAA tournament after that 3 game strech in any kind of bracketology IMO. barring some kind of run where they go undefeated the rest of the way to win the MWC, Wyoming isn't getting an a large bid with no signature OOC wins.

That being said this kind of talk is ridiculous right now. I'd trade the next 3 games for 1 MWC tournament win.

I guess what I'm saying is if we win the next three, that portends a team that either wins the regular season or makes it to the MWC Final. At this point, I'd say the MWC Tournament runner-up, even if they don't win the regular season, has about even odds of getting a bid. Which means it's a huge long-shot.

This was my thought exactly. Barring a LONG win streak, the only way UW is going dancing is if they win the MW tourney. Obviously tho, the more wins the better.

Sans a NCAA tourney invite (not happening unless we somehow win the conference tourney), I would be very happy with a NIT appeareance.

I'm with Wyonavian about it being a Sweet 16 team. In terms of quality, if you can beat those 3 teams, you are likely a Sweet 16 caliber team.
If they can win these 3, they can win the MWC Tourney.

Sometimes ya gotta look past the W/L record and look at the quality of a team.

And Kirk is going to be back, him and Larry Nance have been tweeting eachother (apparently pretty good friends) and Kirk is going to be back no doubt.

Yeah, barring a crazy run, the Pokes will only be in CBI/CIT territory and it will be interesting to see how that plays out since we can't purchase a home game this year with the AA renovations.

Based on that, I think the Pokes should just win the MWCT so we don't have to worry about it. :D
