Chalk Talk: Jeremy Schyatt

Overall, the Pokes have been outscored in the second half. Is that because the opposition figured things out at the half or because the Pokes used more subs in the second half?

I would think it's because Shyatt is getting more time to some of the others, especially the youngins.

Exactly. Shyatt could be blowing a few teams out, but instead he is emptying the bench. We've been finishing games with all freshman at times.

That's not actually true. Pokes have outscored the opposition in both halves overall, although they have been much more dominant in the first half. In several games, Shyatt has clearly emptied the bench late and I think the starters lost a little intensity at times with a big lead (giving up the last 6 to LTU the other night for example).

Overall through 7 games (14 halves), Wyoming has only been outscored in two total halves, both halves of the UWGB game (outscored by 3 in the first and 5 in the second). Wyoming has won every other half this year (obviously against weak competition).

ABSOLUTELY RIGHT! MY MISTAKE. What I should have said is that the Pokes scored less, overall, in the second half than they did in the first half, while the opponents did the opposite.
