CFN Article

The article has a lot of praise for Wick's running. Anyone catch the Boomerang piece that explained why Wick only got four touches against Texas State?

"Coach Dave Christensen said Wick didn’t get many carries in that game because of the fumble against Air Force."

Well, it was "fumbles", and DC said something along the lines of "if you don't hold onto the ball, you're not going to get to play much". While it may or may not have helped to have Wick, I can see where DC is coming from here.

Wick will get some touches this weekend, but i see this a vertical passing attack mostly, just as long as we can make D stops

I guess the word fumbles is semantics I saw one, but it is what it is. CDC is the HC and he can do or say what he likes. These players are not trying to lose the ball out there like Wick said in his interview. Still you have maintain ball security. I believe certain players have a little more latitude when it comes to turnovers. Brett would never get his reps taken away because of a fumble or interception, nor did Herron when he fumblled twice against UNC. I think CDC has his passing game guys and they're on a different set of rules as say the Rbs or Offensive Line. Maybe he's just trying to make an example of Wick, that turnovers will not be tolerated. Since it seems to not be a problem at practice or throughout his career this may be a way of motivation. Hes a young player and I wish we would of redshirtted the kid last year. If it pays off and the run game can help take pressure off Brett then im all for it. Lets get that win and stay undefeated in MWC play
