CFB landscape won't be the same

Honestly, after thinking about this, I'm not sure things are so bleak with respect to our peers. What we know:

NIL and unlimited scholarships are here.
Revenue sharing is here but with an undefined structure. We do know b1g and sec will revenue share. Other wannabe big dogs will also try to come up with something.

If past is precedent, then a major split of fbs is coming likely along the lines of who can revenue share and who can't. There may be more conference realignment based on the same. I don't think the departing schools can afford this model. I don't think osu or wsu will be able to either without a major TV deal and that's not going to happen.

A semi-formal split has already happened. It won't stop there. The only question is what teams will be in the top level. We know it will not be any current g6 teams. Will some other p4 teams fall to our level?

Bottom line, we're going to see TV revenue dry up for g6 and we'll lose access to the major playoff. Once this happens, will conference structure/teams really matter outside if regionalism? I kind of doubt it. Osu and wsu are delusional, wounded, and desperate to try anything. The departures have invested heavily and want to feel more important. Any change is better than where they were. I'm thinking none of this will matter at the end of the day. We'll have a g6 playoff and very little TV money regardless of g6 conference.

Very well stated, and agree 100%. No matter how hard the fight is, it feels like it is all for nothing to stick with the REALLY big boys. On the other hand, I really look forward to being in the alternative, and will rarely watch those other teams unless it is someone regional like Nebraska or Colorado (post-Prime).
