I read the entire article and I think this guy is a clown. He decides that the A-10 is a power conference now because VCU and Butler are now in the league, saying:
"At this point, the A-10 is positioning itself to be, minimally, a three-bid league. And any league that can be counted on for that many NCAA tournament berths must be considered a power."
Yet how many teams does the MWC annually put into the NCAA tournament each year?
This year it could be 5 or 6 teams if everything holds the way it is right now: UNLV, SDSU, UNM, WYO, CSU, and BSU
Last year it was 4
2010-11 it was 3
2009-10 it was 4
5 straight years of 2
3 straight years of 3 again
Slightly better than the A-10 in the same time frame although interesting to note that there were 2 years in that same time frame where the A-10 only put 1 team in the tournament.
