calling all fans for Fresno St

Last night was one of the best games I've seen us play all year, firing on all cylinders, playing great D, was very disappointed with the lack of energy in the building, just don't understand what else there was to do last night 4900, can I ask that if we can get a raucous 7000 fans for saturdays game, is that too much to ask for. This team needs our support more than ever, as I believe we'll feed off this win and energy and show the the fans something special against the Dawgs....if you can be there, it'll be fun none the less, come on students, show up

Agreed. I think for the "on the fence" fans, if they watched, or listened to, or checked the box score, and saw we won by 20..putting up a fair amount of points and holding the other team to hardly anything that should get some more fans here.
It is snowing in Laramie right now, I hope that the weather and the roads are good saturday.

We have got to get 7000.

Who knows if we go on a little streak right here and beat Fresno St and then beat sdsu in san diego, I think the game against UNLV, another saturday game is gonna be packed.

Nope, I didn't have a sign with me. But I have seen that sign quite a bit throughout the season.

And Leonard had some HUGE dunks in the 2nd half...The Baseline monster 1 handed dunk, then later had another monster baseline dunk and the next play got that steal gave it to Gilmore and Gilmore ooped it to Leonard for his 3rd monster dunk.

It seems like Leonard has found his stride again, as well as Adams, and on top of that Gilmore has not been inconsistent. He still jacks up some questionable shots but he is making a lot of those too. As long as he keeps being consistent...
There would be no bigger bummer than us making a run in the 2nd half of conference play just to have Gilmore shoot bad shots all night in the first round of the MWC tourney.

But right now judging by 5 of their last 6 halves of b-ball, all but the first half at boise, they have been playing good again. Keep it up and lets go on a damn streak and get back into the big dance!

Attendance is directly proportional to the quality of the product on the court/field.

I read about an MBA who conducted a study in which he set up the demographics, researched the weather/matchup/record and ran a statistical model. When they ran it the first few times they didn't consider the previous weeks game, just the matchup, previous season record (because of season tickets and season ticket sales), weather and even the variable of hunting season games, and it never turned out a realistic response... until they added previous weeks game being a win or loss. And then they got a result that was measurable and verifiable.

I appreciate that the attendance at games blows. Steve McClain and Heath Schroyer ensured that would be the case by destroying the program for almost a decade. That stuff isn't going to come back over night - and a 5 game losing streak in the conference, paired with the team that was here on a Wednesday night being Nevada, means no one is going to bother going. Especially when many of them drove over the mountain to watch a loss to Boise without 4 of their best players followed by a loss on the road to a team that is, arguably, the worst team in the conference. It's not going to happen - and unless we can start getting pre-conference wins against teams that matter, and beat teams that we are better than in our own conference - AT HOME - you can't expect much more than 4 or 5 thousand fans...

Especially when your conference record is 3-7. Doesn't much matter how many teams you beat pre-conference when you can only beat 3 in conference. Win a conference championship once every 5 years in basketball or football and fans will show. Dominate your competition and you'll break attendance records. Compete at sub-Cal Poly level and the fan base collapses. This isn't rocket science. Nobody wants to travel six hours in sometimes horrible weather to watch a mediocre team and in the end be embarrassed because the only national publicity our teams get are for post game tirades and our best player drop kicking an unconscious guy in a bar brawl.

Interesting you said McClain and Schroyer ruined the program for almost 10 years but at this point there is no point in arguing with some McClain haters cuz apparently the MWC titles and Big Dance win should be given credit to Shyatt....But anyways...

We will have more fans at the game on Saturday, and should we win that game and the game @SDSU the UNLV game will be pretty packed.

And if we get rolling a little bit, and CSU has a chance at the MWC title, and we can stop them from winning it in Laramie we will have a lot of fans for the wednesday senior night game.

My big thing about this is people in Laramie, what are they really doing. This last game and tomorrow's were/are not on TV, the Mountan albeit had good coverage, spoiled Cowboy fans. I have always said black out any tv in a 50/70 mile radius and hopefully those on the fence fans will want to come see the game. I'm in Cheyenne and I try to make as many as the weather allows, I've been lucky and made 11 of the 14 games so far, yes I've been lucky and won tickets for free to them all, but I love this product love what Shyatt has going on, going on saturday and my addiction is such that I'll finish the season out in person, as long as they keep the roads passable. I just don't understand students and fans in Laramie itself???
I can understand SD Poke lives far away etc... but those really calling themselves Pokes fans it's time to help out. We hear all the whining and complaining of not having a product on the court/field, these kids feed off our energy and want to perform for us. I understand it was a long time between winning seasons etc....but it's time to pull our heads outta the sand and support our Pokes....I know I harp on attendance alot, but it truly makes a difference in performance.!!!!!

If I was in Laramie I would never miss a game, As it is I do all I can to support the program from Arizona. I would love to be there cheering them on and someday I'll get back there just who knows when :(

The road sucked ass the other night but we still went. Be there tomorrow and then we will go over the summit and watch A good day to die hard

Too bad you have to wait for the dates of the games to be released to get anything going!

But it is game day! Anyone else expecting the Pokes to dominate today? I say...we win by 15.
