Bringing in Metta World Peace

Nance is already on the team. He already signed his contract for 1.2 million. Whether he gets to play much is another story but Metta's contract is for only one year.

You don't draft someone in the first round and have them sign a 1.2 million contract to cut them.

At worst Larry will be on the practice squad and be groomed for the future but they really like Larry.

Here is an article talking about it :

http://lakeshowlife.com/2015/09/12/los-angeles-lakers-depth-chart-who-makes-the-cut/2/

Basically says that after the starting 5 the next 3 to be on the team are Nance, Lou Williams and Brandon Bass.

Nance will be on the team.

Zero concern about him making the team.

Six of the 19 are on unguaranteed deals, meaning the Lakers will owe zilch if they waive them. Nance, while only making $1,155,600, is still the 9th-highest salary on the team, which is entirely guaranteed for this season, as well as next year's guaranteed salary of $1,207,680.

He could be injured and miss the entire season, and it would still be extremely unlikely for the Lakers to cut him.

If he does play in the season opener, talk about an awesome way to start things off!

Staples Center, national TV (ESPN), sharing the court with legends Kobe Bryant and Kevin Garnett, as well as the top two picks in the 2015 NBA Draft Karl-Anthony Towns and DeAngelo Russell.

As a Timberwolves fan, I can't wait for that game, even though Larry will have to lose in his debut...

That guaranteed first round contract will keep him on the team unless he becomes a piece in a trade. No matter what, he has at least two years on an NBA roster before he has to worry about anything.

I don't follow the NBA at all, but if they have an arrangement like the NFL, I would imagine that all first round draft picks are protected. In the NFL, if you are a first-round pick, you are guaranteed (per the CBA) to make the active roster your first year; NBA might have something similar.

Playing on NBA 2k16, started a MyCareer. Used Josh Adams as my model (6'2" athletic guard from Wyoming). After being drafted by Boston, requested a trade and where did they deal me? The Lakers. Adams and Nance back together again!

Lol... That would be awesome.

Not only those two playing together again, but rookie Josh Adams giving Boston the business and requesting a trade lol.

Was hoping for a trade to Minnesota. They were tops on my list.

Just a note that Nance didn't play in the Lakers' preseason opener last night. Still don't think his roster spot is in jeopardy, but I think he could spend a lot of time in the NBDL. Of the 13 guys who played, three were PFs.

Heard back spasms is what kept him from playing yesterday.

I'd be happy with Dleague, if it helps him and he gets PT....wouldn't want him to be a Fennis on the bench all these upcoming years, i don't see that happening, he'll get his minutes soon enough

Larry got in last night's game. Didn't score (or attempt a shot), but finished with three boards and an assist in 11 minutes

Fennis was on the bench for one year, I think. After that it was Italy, France, CBA where he played a lot.
