Brett Smith to Tampa Bay

Early reports say Brett is a Buccaneer. That is a GREAT landing spot.....Bucs QB depth is about as anemic as any team in the league. Brett could be the #3 QB right away with room to move up.

Looks like the Bucs are my new favorite NFC team!

I really liked TB a lot a couple of times over the years.
Not only do you look pretty in pink but you'll look great dressed up like the old logo too.

I don't think they will be able to keep him off the field. It'll be fun watching his progress.

What kind of defense did Tampa have last year? Not very good, I would guess, from their record.

KICK SOME BUTT BRETT!!!!!!!

Defense has some very good individual talent. Offense lost Doug Martin halfway through the year to injury....that's when things went south. Glennon is an average game-manager type at best. Rumor is Lovie Smith isn't a fan of him. McCown is 51 years old....Brett couldn't have possibly picked a better location. Mike Evans, Vincent Jackson, Doug Martin, Robert Herron.....my hopes for Brett are much higher than they were pre-signing. I thought the rumors were going to be true and he'd go to Carolina.....and sit behind Cam Newton for his entire career. Tampa is the best case scenario situation.

Did Wyoming wear these badass jerseys??

Take a season or two to learn the system, and then tear defenses a new one? :thumb:

Tampa drafted 2 WRs (Big-Evans and fast-Herron), a TE, a RB, and 2 O-Linemen. Then signed Brett.

Like others have said, they have McCown and Glennon.
Glennon is not that good. And McCown, although he did well for the Bears in the stretch in the 2nd half of the season, let's not forget that he is a career backup.

Brett could very well be the starter at some point in the season.
And people though that Russel Wilson was a media darling being a 3rd round pick?

Brett is good at whatever he decides to do. I'm sure he'll learn the play book in no time and take to pro style

Definitely among the most probable places he would end up as an undrafted rookie. The Arroyo connection was key, IMO. Bucs are a good landing spot for him to prove himself. Cheering for the kid to make his mark.

With all the talk of Brett making a huge mistake, Now Im not sure he did. I mean in the short term he did because if he knew he wouldn't get invited to the combine or get drafted I don't think he would have left early so from that standpoint he made a mistake. Nut I don't think he could have landed in a better situation. This one is perfect for him. Tedford is a QB guru and the position is there for the taking if he can prove he deserves it. The only benefit of getting drafted earlier would be a team would have more patience with you(other than the salary).

It is up to Brett to prove he belongs and he doesn't have too much blocking his way.

Yes and No, Getting drafted means more money but it also means less money if the player turns out to be amazing. Going early in a draft means 4 years at that wage no matter how spectacular you are. Going later means you could end up going from a mediocre pay to a good pay a year or two later like Gipson has done.

Either way Brett will succeed no doubt about it just no one knows when he will see the field I still think he is going to have a more successful NFL career than any other QB in the draft.

I thought there was yellow in it and not the gold like in that pic.

Not the same unless it's filtered to look diff. I like the filtered gold better
