Here is a link to an article that predicts Brett to be the 6th Qb taken in the draft this year.

I think AJ M. hurt his stock in that bowl game. He looked like an average guy on a great team, to me.
Yeah, OU's defense got in his head early and it showed all game long. Got to the point he would just sit down on the field before any of the defenders touched him.

Only surprise for me on that list is that Smith passed Tahj Boyd, a good QB on a strong ACC team is usually drooled over by media-types. Shows how strong Brett has been consistently. Also think that Aaron Murray would be higher than Brett if it weren't for his ACL injury.

Heard from both Nebraska and Georgia fans that Smith is better than Murray.

The article does lack in accuracy as Smith never played a senior season. Being taken 6th would legitamize his decision. Based upon what I have seen and if I were an NFL team, I would go: (1) Johnny Manziel, (2) Teddy Bridgewater; (3) Brett Smith (but maybe that is the homer in me).

I just think it would be crazy for a team to pass on Manziel.

Isn't Manziel like 6'0 with an undesirable attitude? Everything I've read, has said that Smith is like Manziel skill wise, but without the luggage but is tall enough.

Russell Wilson and Drew Brees have pretty much thrown the whole height requirement out of the window.

Smith and Manziel are similar players but Manziels ability to create plays and improvise is unmatched IMO. Smith can certainly make plays with his feet. Manziel is almost magical. I believe that drafting Manziel is a big risk but with a potential huge reward. I am excited to watch both players at the next level! I always root against Manziel but I found it hard to turn the TV channel when A&M was on the past two years.

I know this has been thrown around a LOT, but Manziel also had a MUCH better line than Smith. Smith still put up good numbers despite a bad line. Manziel put up good numbers with a good line.

And I have had no problem turning the channel when Manziel has been on.

I don't think Manziel had a much better line than Brett. Better, yes, but also playing against much better teams than we faced. If you did watch some of Manziel's games you'd see he got loads of his passing yards while running for his life. I think if you're picking one of them, it'd have to be based on what you were looking for. Manziel doesn't seem as if he'd be happy at all sitting behind someone. So if you couldn't offer him the chance at starting, then no use taking him. Whereas Brett seems to be more of a team player and someone who would not mind sitting behind and learning from a well established QB for a few years. Sure, he's want to play, but I believe he also "gets it".

Unlike you, I will watch Manziel wherever he ends up. He's as exciting to watch as Brett and on broken plays, even more so.

Manziel doesnt have much better a line than Brett? the best left tackle in the country, being projected 2nd overall alone makes that line better than what we have

You're absolutely correct that if we had their O-line in this conference, it would dominate. Where I'm coming from is their O-line didn't look so good in the 4 or so games I've watched on TV, vs. the competition they were playing. It seems as if it blew up on every other play and Manziel was scrambling for his life. As I have only seen them on TV, I caouldn't see if the problem is that Manziel can't spot his receivers or if his receivers aren't getting separation fast enough, causing him to take off, as the cameras focus on the ball. But I didn't see a guy that had all day to look around the field. The defenses were on him very fast.

Okay I got you, comparatively they are fairly similar O lines I believe, could be wrong about that. And I think it is correct to compare Brett to Johnny, but I honestly think Brett will make a better pro, he s=has the size and off the field factor for him, plus I think Johnny got bailed out by that stud WR A LOT of times when he would just throw it up there
